hate to say this but..
As long as you make music software or any kind of software it WILL be cracked and what not.
If you are so concerned maybe use Ilok or hire U-he to help you code a timebomb system into your plugins when a bad code is used.
Sorry it happened but it is kind of inevitable considering the grand scheme of things

Yes. They compile the DMCA complaints to file sharing companies and google for you. That's what the are offering. That's because to compile those complaints is a long procedure and is very annoying. BTW this morning I already told to one of these companies that it's not me that I have to search for the illegal distributions on their servers (this is what they ask you) but it's their responsibility to check for the illegal files.idfpower wrote:PS: and what exactly are they supposedly going to do? Report the download links to their hosts as illegal? That's something you can do on your...sheesh...
I already informed the guy at Tracksaur that even if they are running a serious business (and I have some doubts) those kind of unwanted proposal are not well seen by audio companies and users (they are literally spamming me). I would like to advise developers to stay away from these companies and I hope this is just an isolated case and not the beginning of a new illegal activity.

It doesn't change anything for me. I'm using watermarking on my products and this is enough for me, I don't want the legal user waste time with complex procedures.
The people going to use the illegal releases would never buy the software anyway. I firmly believe in honest users and the whole story it's only a matter of people choices: you can decide to buy a car or to stole a car. It's up to you and you took the responsibility of your choice.
My posts here are only a disclaimer about the illegal copies.

I think we should remove the protections. Link for download and update via email only to those who have paid.
The illegal software can be useful for advertising developer, but long time causes damage at all, even indirectly to all other developers.
Synthblitz ... inside the club of cracked

Well that's exactly what I do, but this do not prevent some people to share the product in any case, even if I can identify them.mx25 wrote:I think we should remove the protections. Link for download and update via email only to those who have paid.

Yeah, U-He has time bombs coded in and all their products are cracked...it doesn't solve anything, just prevents any wannabe cracker from trying - but sooner or later an experienced team will manage to crack it.
As for software via email...if they can clone credit cards to buy legit software just to crack it, I reckon they can also create fake emails and still get their hands on software...keep in mind that often the teams only take care of the cracking part, while many other ppl provide them the software. That's why there are specialised police depratments for Internet crime - it's not that simple to stop them, and even when they manage to, another team eventually steps in.
FYI on warez sites EVEYTHING is listed and transferred - yes, even free stuff: my band's album is available for free download and still you can find it on most if not all warez sites...that's something that doesn't make any sense to me, but hey...

I think they still earn some money from adv, so they upload everything they can for this reason, I suppose.idfpower wrote:my band's album is available for free download and still you can find it on most if not all warez sites...that's something that doesn't make any sense to me, but hey...

Why are you warning people willing to use pirated software? If I were you I would be pleased to see such people getting viruses etc. They can't sue you or anything. Nor can it harm your reputation, after all they don't get the viruses from your site.
First WOK, now MaxSynths. Is this just a publicity thread?
You could use the time you are wasting here to improve Latte
Don't even know your other synths, I mean, who is willing to pay 70 euros / 90 dollars for a SE synth?! But I was interested in Latte some time ago, but there were too many things I did not like about it.
You are using watermarks, hm, in the sound produced by your synths like Tone2 does?
Generally speaking, people buy software they are proud and happy to own.

Because as I stated on the first post some people do not understand the difference between a legal and an illegal copy and some sent me complaints about some virus/trojan warnings they get from the illegal copies that they have downloaded. At this point I have to make clear that I do not offer any warranty about copies of my software that have been downloaded from any site that is not MaxSynths.com (also the freebies available from legit sites).fluffy_little_something wrote:Why are you warning people willing to use pirated software?
Sure!!First WOK, now MaxSynths. Is this just a publicity thread?
Oh yes, I don't want to spend too much time on this, but I think that I was obliged to post just a few lines. You could use the time you are wasting here to improve Latte
Concerning Latte it's my intention to improve it for sure; by the way I'm unsure if it's the case or not to wait for the first stable 64bit version of Synthedit before update it.
Nope, is not an audio watermarkYou are using watermarks, hm, in the sound produced by your synths like Tone2 does?

I'm not sure anymore if I should deny this. Because the more people who think that our stuff is cracked, the more people will run into a time bomb. And anyone who spent 100 or more hours tweaking a synth will certainly buy it if it suddenly stops working.idfpower wrote:Yeah, U-He has time bombs coded in and all their products are cracked...it doesn't solve anything, just prevents any wannabe cracker from trying - but sooner or later an experienced team will manage to crack it.

Yes, but the developer is a real programmer, while MaxSynths does no programming if I remember correctly from another thread months ago...
Thus one can't really compare the sound of the OP-X with MaxSynths synths, sorry.

A SE synth it's just like any other synth. Not that I want to start a SE thread now. But there is no difference. It's all about what you do with it. The code is the code; any negative comment about SE it's just puerile. If you think that to create a synth with SE it's just a matter of putting together some building blocks like with legos you are totally wrong.
You have to know how a synth work, you have to know how to use mathematical formulas in order to achieve some results and so on.
I like SE as a developing tool and the SE community, I personally think it's one of the most important inventions in the history of audio software, not to mention the excellent work done by Jeff over the years.

Oh well it's just a matter of taste. I suppose you tried Crisalys though.fluffy_little_something wrote:Thus one can't really compare the sound of the OP-X with MaxSynths synths, sorry.
