FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS

If your going to use a product for long periods of time then it would be sensible to choose one that didn't cause discomfort over time. Just makes sense.

it doesn't have to be on a second screen

Could, but it would be a bit weird as it would look like this, as you can't make both screens small enough to have one with only the device/clip area:
