Dom did some research on his end and found out that GC sold the same license key to another customer last week.
Long story short, GC had me on the phone for about an hour while performing their own investigation. They finally acknowledged they dropped the ball on this one and will send me a new code "as soon as they can". Needless to say I'm ticked off right about now and will cancel the order altogether if I don't get the license key by the end of the day. I've already made that clear to them.
This issue has been resolved. GC just emailed me a new license key and I was able to successfully register BWS.

PS...Big thanks to Dom over @ Bitwig for promptly identifying the issue and helping me get it sorted out quickly. Excellent customer service like this makes me more than happy to be a Bigwig supporter. Keep up the good work sir.

@c-wave, yes I live in Vancouver, but have limited means. I would buy that Bitwig license off you, though, for $200 if you're interested. It takes a long time for me to save a hunnerd bucks but eventually I'll be able to give Tom Lee's $449 if that's what it takes. I'd take dsan up on some of that "southern comfort" but gotta save those pennies!

It's true you don't always win.......shit happens. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna feel good about
I have to admit I was a bit taken aback when I realized the priced had dropped to $299 and now to see it at $199 is a bit disconcerting. I bought in when it was $399 at the beginning to be supportive of a new company and I believed in the product.

Now, it seems the rewards go to those that wait and a possibility of feeling taken if you are an early adopter.

But we don't know yet the plans BWS has for those early adopters and what rewards await them. There seems to be a point of the badges awarded.

I see Ogopogo's point clearly. Things happen. Too bad I didn't wait, maybe. We'll see.

But I also see how those that paid more, especially wthin a few days are a bit disgruntled.
It is a learning experience and will make one think twice about being supportive.

My advice, and what I'm gonna do.....forget about it and make music. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

Happy Musiking!

Unfortunately there's nothing to bargain here. This thing cost me $460 Canadian. I have no problem selling it to you just as a favor because I have the means to buy another one tomorrow.. and while I scratch your back you have to scratch mine by getting one of my controllers (With Nektar P6 it becomes an even better deal because I am losing some at $800 with the license). Sorry I don't plan to sell the license alone. But this way you get the license the day you drop by.
It's as simple as that. You can see for yourself that all items are practically new and with complete documentation and packaging (down to the nylon bags!).

I understand man, I wouldn't do it either. But it's all beyond my means ATM. I really love the design of that Nektar, drool. Have to keep reminding myself about debt slavery :)

I just decided to get down to 460CAD for Arturia Pack or 800CAD for my special Nektar Pack. Well why not :)
They're both brand new.. but I like to change toys :) as long as I keep one I don't care which one I get to keep :) Both have great integration with Bitwig..
And don't forget: Tom Lee don't stock them so you have to wait 3 weeks or more for delivery.
good luck

I asked to guitarcenter and they tell me, it is totally possible to do the purchase if you not are on USA. So contact them. It is a very very good price!

Ogopogo wrote:Ok, this will probably be the last thing I'll say on the matter to keep this from devolving into a fight.
I really dislike it when people say "I don't want to argue" and then they go ahead and say their opinion anyhow. If you don't want to argue, then don't tell me your side. Because by telling me your side you are actively participating in the argument, and it also makes me want to respond.
Ogopogo wrote:You however, are undeniably one of the people I was talking about. You think you deserve a sale price because you bought right before a sale. That makes no sense; there has to be a cutoff sometime if there is going to be a sale as a said in my first post. Somebody has to miss the sale, so why not just accept your luck that it was you? Why fume and argue for them to gift you money?

It's a real shame if Cytomic actually does keep their prices constant just in order to avoid this sort of thing. Thats means that an actual chance for at least some people to save some money is dashed purely out of the jealously of the people who didn't get the deal.
If the sale had been advertised, and I'd made a conscious decision to buy now rather than wait a couple of days and save 80%, then I would have accepted full responsibility. But it didn't happen that way, and as such I had the right to feel annoyed. If you can't understand that, then you must either lack a certain degree of empathy that most people possess, or you're just being obtuse for the sake of argument.

I didn't ask for a gift of money, instead they gave me credit to spend in their store. And I think that legally I may have had the right to cancel and get a full refund, as we have a 30 day cooling off period here in the UK.

Telling people that they "fume" and are "jealous" is not conducive to normal discussion IMO. It's not jealousy or rage, it's just a normal human reaction that we want to be treated the same as others. I respect Andy's decision, as it ensures everyone pays the same.

This is why I feel that it's a better strategy to start low. Get people on board early, then when the product becomes more popular you can raise the prices.

Good advice!

Eta Carinae,

not worth arguing, imo. :) BTW, here is what happened to me regarding the refund. I hope it's ok to post emails, Placidus.

--------------------------------------------------
I have purchased Bitwig 5 days ago on 21st on your site for $299 USD and realised that Guitar Centre will sell it for $200 USD on Black Friday. I would like to get refund so I can re-purchase thru Guitar Centre.
-----------------------------------------------
Hello,

thank you for getting in touch and I'm sorry about this! However, the Guitar Center deal is only local in the US and AFAIK only if you visit a store and purchase there.
I could offer you a 30% discount on the tutorials we offer in our webshop. Let me know if that sounds interesting.
And thank you so much for supporting us! There are many exciting features in our pipeline!

Best regards,
Placidus

Ahh I thought it applied to all regions. Then it's ok, glad to support you guys. :)

--------------------------------------------------

Ok! We'll work hard to make you happy with upcoming updates!
Best regards,
Placidus

You're welcome! I know how frustrating it is to finally just have bought something only to learn that you can't use it immediately... so, welcome on board and thanks for the nice comment!

Cheers,
Dom

I don't know about that! I checked the GC web chat yesterday and they said No to Canada for Bitwig... I then called Guitar Center's 1-800 line and they said no to Canada - even just for the download - they can't honor the $199.99 price if you don't have a US billing address...

US only!

How about pretending you traveled USA while Black Friday offer was available?
