Tip: Try the Smart Load feature. It's very addictive. I already need a rehab ...lol
I'm glad you like it.

The Smart Load system makes automatic patch creation very easy, rewarding, and fun.
It will generate a lot of *usefull* and *musical* patches.
And its an instantaneous, one click process.

It's buddy *Random Load* is also fun, for those who feel adventurous, and will compliment very well a good coffe or a beer.

Teksonik wrote:This is a very nice sounding synth. Great price, excellent copy protection method but........that GUI is absolutely horrid. Both in function and appearance and I'm normally a huge fan of grey interfaces because they are easy on the eyes for long periods of use. This looks like someone's first amateur Synth Edit project but the sound is professional. I do appreciate the Huge mode but it just makes the ugly bigger.

But having said that I might still pick up this synth because as we all know the sound is more important than the GUI. Still it's a shame that a synth that sounds so good looks so bad...........in my opinion of course. :?
I just found the knobs a bit fiddly to turn like the other poster mentioned, the ui is fine, not the most realistic but ok, the only other bug bear I have is with certain(especially layered pads) sounds the CPU was high(causing it to stutter/glitch playing 4 note chords), mind you I don't have the fastest of modern PC's. But the sound was very nice, could get patch very close(95% there) with the Chorus used to my Juno 106.

As far as I know it's not free if you own Synth'X'2. Pity... As it would be a very nice freebie.

He was refering to the miniSyn'X factory preset library being available for free to full Syn'X owners...

Afaik ...., the update to Syn'X 2 will be FREE for all Syn'X users.
And Syn'X 2 users will have the choice to get the MiniSyn'X factory library ( 260+ preset) as a commercial soundset. Or to just benefit of the free version 2.0 upgrade.

Note : It is my understanding that it was the choice between this offer, or a paid update for the Syn'x 2, but maybe I'm wrong.

And to Rob : The Syn'x 2 will be able to do everything the miniSyn'X can do.

aMUSEd wrote: I think it's an improvement on the full Synx actually, but yes there are still some flaws, particularly use of space, small knobs, text not well positioned (in some cases right next to the top of sections, not making good use of space, but this is also not consistent). I also think some of the abbreviations are unclear. All things that can be fixed though.
I can't imagine this being an improvement on anything but I've never tried the full Synx.

Can and Will are two different things...........

Again it's just a shame such a nice little synth is handcuffed by such a horrid gui. The PolyKB Player and Xils 3 which I own have such nice interfaces it's hard to believe they come some from the same company......

Thanks man. I just like having a 'lite' version for getting things done quickly. I'm really pleased with it. But then I'm a Xils addict (and U-He one too).

Great one Mr. P Adamz!
Thanks!

I am enjoying working with this synth.
Love those "old school" emulations and Xils-Lab has done it again.

Jean Michel Jarre was an avid user of the Synthex version.
Nice to see a soft synth version available.

hmmm.. so no PWM from the others osc output??? Isee the space for the button where it should be in the panel, just between pulse wave and RM... Thats the most used feature when I had my synthex, and for sure something that put the synthex apart from the other polys.
Sad, I was happy to try that odf PWM... :(

All the instruments here are from miniSyn'X and "The Gem" presets (including percussion).
I wanted to make some ethnic percussion for it as well as some orchestral strings.

Can someone explain zero delay feedback PWM to me please?

I can understand 0df filters, because filters need feedback to make resonance. But PWM is a change in duty cycle - it's a matter of timing relative to the period of the wave. Seemingly no feedback there to have zero delay of. I may be completely igonrant of something going on under the hood here, as my knowledge is just as an enduser, and a self-taught one at that.

Either way, I'm going to check this out, as I love PWM, and if this can deliver fresher sounding PWM then I'll be all over it!

Isn't 0dfb commonly used to mean topology-preserving ? Perhaps this is a case of that.

It 'PWM button' appears when you select the pulse wave, dissapears when you don't...Same for both Osc's
