All DAWs should have automation like this. Steinberg & PreSonus - take note please!

FL automation workflow (clip/pattern based automation envelopes) can be easily emulated by putting MIDI note triggered envelopes (MUX has a brilliant multi-point editor) into the takes (worth to routing notes with different MIDI channels into MUX for the easy separation)
in Sonar it looks like this (Sonar has multi-line MIDI editor so the original clip and the triggering ones can be edited together), if the triggering clips in the different takes are linked together the pattern emulation is complete
case solved
MUX Modular is a brilliant add-on for the traditional DAWs for sure

There are 3 things I miss in Cubase:
- Bezier curves (yes, some DAWs having this and it's a great feature)
- Automation of _all_ parameters (in Cubase this is a bit tricky if you try to automate eg. pitchbend)
- removing of unused automation points
Cubase has the "automation follows events" option and this (or a similar feature) is IMO the only important thing you need, so automation events are attached to an event and also moved/copied with the event/clip.
If clip based automation or some different view is important.. hmm.. Maybe

Hi Edward, I thought you may like to see how FL Studio compares to Studio One, I know you were favoring it at one point:juicyloops wrote:There's no denying that Fruityloops is the cutest DAW on the market![]()

how to create transients attached MIDI note triggered tempo synced filter curves in Sonar and MUX
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1#p6215762
can be interesting for non Sonar and MUX users so share it here too

Wow you devs really got snookered into a lot of surface pro 3 work that nobody's ever gonna see...
How many of those did Microsoft sell? A million or two a year ain't gonna cut it. That's just a drop in the bucket on pc sales, so why waste the time and effort? Why not make an ipad version with 100x more units out there?
Now at least with W10 we have a sane desktop OS that's not pushing unwanted tablet features on us. And devs can go back to forgetting microsoft specific products that will eventually get landfilled like the original surface or the zune lol.

Yep FL Studio has as of 2017 the best automation system out there. It's a fact. I use and have used many DAWs and sure FL Studio is not without its quirks but when it comes to automation it has no competition.
