Not lame in any way, IMHO. Listened through your tracks on SC and if listened to in chronological order, I hear a good development.surreal wrote:My work is lame...
Still trying to establish my Musical Identity and strengths LOL
I've been making music for many years, but can't hear any big progress. Hope to be like the tortoise and finish in a good way, hehe.
Anyway, as long as one enjoy making music more than the result, it's all fun. Not giving up my dayjob yet and if I do it is for other reasons, but would result in less plugins... Hmm, morning coffee train of thought derailed before babbling on and on.
Short story, I like your music, Surreal and I wonder was it the wedding song that was called Is it trapp?

Thanks for da feedbacksurreal wrote:Cool 4 U Numanoid!!
As I remember now, the system I did for this particular track was to start with a minor chord then transpose it +6 then transpose that -5 then transpose that +6 then transpose that -5 etc etc
Quite simple, but makes a feeling of ever falling over

And Electronic:

I started off with soundtrack because I wanted to compose music for games I used to play when I was small. I've no developed a wider range of interest, but still keep soundtrack around.

This is an excellent production, you've managed to get it to sound acoustic and alive

Dunno if this would fit in the Music Cafe so I'll sneak it in here...
Back in the mid '90s I fancied myself as a bit of an electronic musician. With my Amiga (first an A500 and later an A1200) and floppy disks full of samples either ripped from mods or badly sampled with my TST2 cartridge. Even back in '95 I was working 100% ITB. And it shows
I was playing around with ProTracker on my laptop earlier and rendered a few of my old mod files to wav. They're rendered in mono as the hard panning in the original mods sounds kinda jarring in stereo. If you're really stuck for something to listen to, you can check out mp3s here.
Prepare for crunchy, cheesy samples and often totally out of place sfx and vocal samples because they were all I had at the time.

My main crush is musique concrète / acousmatic:

Also some more straightforward orchestral for soundtrack:

I imagine the former is not terribly common on these boards, but if that's your thing, I'd love to hear from you!

I make a pretty wide array of musical styles, but most of it is electronica-based dance music with house or trance influences or downtempo/chillout and I tend to blend some real instruments (e.g., bass, acoustic guitar, percussion toys) into many of my tracks. The majority of my songs feature female singers/songwriters and I've worked with a few dozen of them over the past decade. We even throw a few covers in for fun once in a while. A bunch of these songs can be heard at:

I released an album last year with one of the singers (Amy Jane) under the project name Covalente. The album can be heard at:
https://soundcloud.com/covalente
I also work with many of these singers on their own songs and under their own names. The styles mostly range from pop to rock to RnB to folk/rock, etc.

Mostly trap

and "trash" music

Or anything dark or creepy with heavy hip-hop/trap influences. But sometimes I make happier stuff that goes unreleased ...rare

Really like the enclosures track - beautiful use of silence and the individual sounds are so clean!
I am probably from a similar tradition -
