Sorry to hear you had some troubles with import. I would report this to support if you haven't already. They should have access to the Vintage Keys library so you wouldn't have to fiddle too much with getting them the exact files, etc so they would be able to report any import anomalies to the developers if necessary. Thanks!
Thanks, I will. I may wait until I can check out the OB-xA xpander(I had a problem with it when I first bought it, and have to wait until next month to buy a re-download).

OK, thanks for letting me know and thanks for the additional information via PM. I believe there were similar issues with some legacy sounds imported in the past so hopefully these can get knocked out too.

It is almost 2 years now since ST3 got published, a lot can happen in 2 years.

There was no custom shop when ST3 got published, that got added later.

Now Legacy import for older ST2 libs has been added to the free ST3 CS version, another change and improvement.

I think it is better to be happy what we have got now, than to snipe at Peter about this...
LOL. Peter gave us 'reasons' when ST3 came out, as to why they couldn't give us a free ST3 player, or even a dirt cheap ST3 player. I (and others) rebutted those 'reasons', because they were obviously bullshit. I even suggested allowing users to buy small parts of the ST3 library after they had downloaded the ST3 player, etc.
What are you talking about? "Now Legacy import for older ST2 libs has been added to the free ST3 CS version"? And? So you're saying that the fact that they implemented the changes that they claimed they COULDN'T, 2 years ago, means that somehow it means they couldn't have implemented them 2 years ago? WTF? You've listed all the suggestions that I and others made, which were rebuttals to Peter's 'reasons' that they couldn't bring out a free (or cheap) ST3 player, and that somehow means that the rebuttals were untrue?

The reason they have taken this long to bring it out is because MOST users of ST2 didn't want ST3, and only wanted a 64 bit player for their ST2 sounds (that includes me), and they thought they would lose lots of sales of ST3 if they brought out the ST3 player.

And I do remember posting up a few months ago that some controller keyboard at about £120 (please correct me if I'm wrong, I can't remember exactly) came with ST3 for FREE, thus proving what I had also said in the original ST3 thread was correct - that ST3 would not continue to sell at full price for very long.
i have to say... i downloaded the free player and i am surprised... the free player has added life to my old ST libraries... actually... i am glad i waited... because the whole process of downloading, authorization, and importing was straight forward... the browser in ST 3 makes life 1000 times better than ST 2... the whole workflow in ST 3 is straight forward compared to Halion Sonic 2... plus the fact no dongle with ST 3... makes ST 3/PLAYER ideal for me...

you cant knock ik multimedia... personally, i have enjoyed their products from refills to ST2/ST 3 player to iLoud (looking forward to the new speakers)... the roll out of ST 3 was the major problem for me... and i have to say after dealing with the Player for a week or two... i could see a ST 3 purchase in the future... i.e. an impulse buy... it is that solid...

I agree of course.. One great thing I've found is to replace the old effects. The first thing I've been doing is replacing the preset comp with the white compressor and just taking off around 1 db. It's pretty much always an enhancement. Also the tape echo is a great replacement for the old delay. If you run into any issues, we're pretty much documenting them here and there are fixes for a few of them.

If you're planning an impulse buy of ST3, the promotion where it's bundled free with iRig controllers runs until May 31st.

No, the promotion is that you buy one of their controllers (like the cheapest one) and you get the full ST3 full for free.

So, you can get the iRig keys 25 for $59 (minus Jampoints plus shipping) and get ST3 full for free.

Very cool update. Cheers!
Gives new life to those old libraries, I do miss the old GUIs though, they were too small of course but color-wise and design-wise were very nice. I dream of a FabFilter type GUI for SampleTank in the style and colors of SonikSynth 2, SampleMoog, Miroslav etc, The new GUI is very functional but stiff and fugly. :hihi:
