The app isn't ready for Windows? If you are a Windows user, can you still download packs? Are you using Windows?

Yes I'm on windows. You can download single sounds or whole packs from the site but the app to do it in sync with your daw isn't available yet. Nor are presets.

Ok. Thanks!!!!

I just joined, and I have to say that I am impressed. There's a ton of sample packs to choose from in many different genres. If you are on the fence about trying it, don't be. I can highly recommend it.

I asked them about the vocal packs: All Samplephonics sample packs will be available, past present and future. They are still in the process of uploading.

Anybody know where I can find the supposedly "limited edition" 8000 samples that you get if sign up this week (I signed up a few days ago)?

EDIT: Ah, there was only a link in the email. It's not available from the website.

I remember not too long ago there was a website called LoopPort.com that had the same model ...
They offered samples, vst presets, midi, and dedicated sample formats.

I don't see that they're around anymore :-(
On the long term, this is not a good business model for loop packs because in the end the producers get a lot less money for their packs. For the moment, Noiiz is worthwhile because you have access to the back catalog that was created before the service existed. So the value for money is high, but I don't think producers will be willing to work as hard for peanuts. Unless they already do something else to sustain themselves like DJing, film scoring, live shows, etc. Which they probably do anyways.

Hey - hope you don't mind me chiming in here, but I wanted to give you another take on how artists will get paid and why we think we will generate more for them, not less. We decided to go down the subscription route because we want to grow the company and develop a platform that allows us to experiment with new tools to make music with. To grow the company, we need to earn revenue. We've crunched a lot of data and we believe this model will generate more revenue than the old one. Partly because it offers such good value, we predict the average user will actually spend a little more each year on samples, even though they will receive more than 100x the value back. We're also confident that we will bring in more customers over all and plan to release more tools in the future to increase this.

So, if we are right, there will be more people putting more money back in to the industry, which will have a direct result on how much artists on a royalty share of revenue will get paid. One of the keys to making this work is going to be tempting people to stay with us beyond just a year or a month. To do this, we need to provide constant value in terms of tools and new content so that Noiiz continues to stay relevant. We'll be making an announcement soon with more details about this, but we will be continuously adding new artists to Noiiz who will be able to share in the revenue we generate and grow the platform with us.

Hope that helps give a more in depth view of why we are doing this and shows that we are in it for the long haul, not just a few quick dollars. Happy to answer any more questions about this or anything else if you have any!

Cheers,

Dave - Noiiz

There will be people who only subscribe for one year to download as many packs as they can and then cancel. These people are missing the point of this great service. The plugin is actually the most powerful tool here, giving people access to thousands of samples, all categorized and easily searchable to quickly find what they need. All adjusted to the correct tempo and key by the plugin. For me this is absolutely worth $89 a year.

While waiting for the Windows plugin, I also downloaded some packs, but searching for the right sound browsing all these packs is quite a boring job. And often this right sound will be in a pack that I would normally never even look at. That is what makes the plugin so powerful. Therefore I really hope the Windows plugin will be here soon, I'm gonna have tons of fun with it ;)

Ah...didn't realize that these were only the wav files and not the entire library download as available from Samplephonics (including Rex). I wish there was a way to upgrade the plan to include all that. I always slice and mangle everything anyway, but rex files saves that particular step if I'm working with Geist (whose slicer kind of sucks compared to Recycle).

When will the Windows plugin be available?

Also... is the post a few posts earlier correct?... with the subscription, downloaded sample packs only contain the WAV files, and not the REX2 files?

Thanks.
