I too was hoping for vst3, which I find funny that some are saying is DOA, as well as an massively needed audio engine upgrade. The features added for editing are awesome but I’m having a hard time considering switching back from studio one.

Some really nice Push 2 updates in addition to MIDI editing and arranger view. Main reason I don't want to switch to Bitwig is the Push 2 support is nowhere near as good.
No mention of improving the CPU utilization though - or comping for audio tracks. That's a bummer.

I guess each of us has to make their own decision about whether the upgrade is worth it…
Given that early adoption of recent Live releases hasn’t been a good idea, I won’t be jumping to pre-order, which means I’m looking at a standard upgrade price from Live 9 Suite to 10 Suite of GBP 229.00.
That is actually twice what I just paid to upgrade Reason 9 - 10, and is also considerably more than buying Logic Pro X outright ..!!
The list of new and improved features is certainly a good one imho, but the real question is whether I will actually use those new features. And in most cases, the answer is probably “no”. There’s a few things which for me are a no-brainer, but I’m not at all sure they add up to a GBP 229 value.
And for each of us, that’s the real question here ...

The same thing it means to every other daw, *bug fixes and improvements*rod_zero wrote:Audio engine upgrade? What does that even mean?
I think live has claimed an audio engine upgrade with every release since they've been doing them

Looks like if you want to get on board with Live 10, you're going to have
to pony up before the free upgrade offer runs out, if you want to save
the most money.
I'm on standard, with M4l and sampler addons, the upgrade to the
suite isn't too bad, the free upgrade is pretty attractive IMHO.

But reason gets updates anually and live now has had two 4 year cycle. And with 9 we got 9.5 which was a big one for free.

A standard upgrade price from Live 9 Suite to 10 Suite of GBP 229.00 seriously devalues my Live 9 suite licence resale value!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

If anyone in London wants to get hands on with Live 10 there’s lots of demos (as well as workshops) here. http://wearerobots.org.uk
Wavetable seems fun, the promo person took me through a few examples. Looks great on the Push 2 screen.
