I can do some riffs, chords, licks etc on my Variax if you want - it emulates a number of guitars so is there anything in particular you are looking for.

Sorry Midiworks, didnt check the link. Unfortunately, I cant fix it. Its not mine.

Wishes stay the same, though. Nu metal, high gain sounds. (think Linkin Park or for EU people Rammstein type of sound)

Then please name a song and group that has the sound ur looking for.
I never listen to Linkin Park and very few Ramstein.

edit:
Something like this ?

If so, play me a dry lick of it,
but with the energy needed to make that sound.
Then post it here.

Midiworks,

yes, the link you posted is basicly sound I am talking about.

But, can you hear that harsh mosquito sound that goes along with guitars? I dont have a clue whats that and I assume its not digital distortion (those are real amps, I know) but it sounds exactly like it. But, if we put that "digital noise" aside, thats the sound I am talking about.

Regarding the posting of dry samples on Net, I will invest a bit of my spare time learning how to post something on web (never done that before). I will keep you informed.

Btw, are you keeping an eye on NI Guitar Rig forum? That "high gain" tone I am talking about is number 1 topic for quite some time. You can also download Guitar Rig demo and see how its working for you. You will also find couple of dry mp3 samples after GR demo is installed (one dry sample is typical metal riff) and that can help you designing ultimate gutar VST.

Thanks for your time and wish you very best.

Cheers

Ok here ya go...

I just pasted together a bunch of riffs (i couldn't be fussed to upload a bunch of files, you should be able to seperate them). some of these riffs you will recognise (van halen, dokken, metallica, the donnas, ms dynamite and others), others are my invention. most are chunky rock, metal chord things but there is some lead playing and right hand tapping there too.

I posted the Dirty Riffs for comparison.
Both the clean and dirty riffs are encoded at 192k and each is about a 6.5 meg MP3.

i just did ths stuff freestyle not to a metronome so no comments about timing from the yngwie malmsteen section.

Sounds to me like high presence settings.

No, not at all, NI Guitar Rig is crap for $400,
a total waste of money for the one who buys it.
Amplitube is way better, closer to the real thing
and still not that great.

Time for my baby to rock the world ! :D  :D
