What about BFD?

I went back to .4. Its functionality is exactly the same, but it makes VE Pro hang on quit. Far from the first time I've seen this, not a big deal to me.
Drew has said that the expansions will quit working in .33. Another thing I don't understand.
So now the enter password and 'Always Allow' is one click-through in both standalone and plugin.
The migration works perfectly on this OS, I mean the installer somehow grabs a copy of the guts and puts it in the new locations.

I have to say that I have had a very bad experience with BFD3.4. It would sit there trying to scan the content to the point where I had to resort to task manager. It was always asking to see the preferences file of the previous version which it couldn't access. I eventually got it kind of working and I pulled the internet and Cubase immediately crashed. BFD3.4 will not work offline. Surely to goodness in this day and age you don't create a software that can't run offline for a music computer. What an earth is going on?

During the start of the program it asks me to enter my login keychain password, to access the program.
Why?
I have never been asked to do anything like this before for any software.
Please, tell me a way to activate the software via License Manager, not from my keychain.
Thank you
I have the same problem as yours. What is the solution to this.

Lots of us are having this problem. I timemachined my mac to restore it to its pre-BFD install state because it was messing up my attempt to load logic.
Why'd you slice off my hand?

I experienced the non-keychain SNAFU I think three times, and gave up for the day.
I saw something, forget what, but I decided the next day to try again. I had cleaned out everything I could think of, but can't be certain which bit was what turned it around. I suppose Drew's trick of cleaning out the com.inmusicbrands.softwareunlock folder is the official answer.

I tried several times but did not succeed.
Unfortunately, I do not think there is a way to use "new" BFD without access to keychain.

Pretty disappointed with the latest BFD, the GUI is sluggish, every time I open a DAW I have to input my password for the keychain twice, then I have to do it again when I add BFD into a project and then it tells me it can’t find the content so I have to go through that...
Please fix this.

I'm a little curious -- Is anybody having problems with an absolutely first-time install of 3.4 on a machine? Or is it all FUBAR'ed when trying to update or replace earlier installs?
Also -- since I bought an upgrade to v3 from BFD Eco after migrating my account, can I have access to a 3.3 install, which apparently is still all good, if this continues to be a mess?

Would it be a good idea to either merge the two BFD threads or create a new one to discuss the installer issues? Asking for a friend of a friend.

Is there only 2 threads of this? I’ve seen more.Aloysius wrote: Sat Apr 24, 2021 3:46 am Would it be a good idea to either merge the two BFD threads or create a new one to discuss the installer issues? Asking for a friend of a friend.

I'm subscribed to two. If there's more, then that's even more reason to make a new thread (started by InMusic) imho.

Had to try this for myself. Turned off wifi, tried to launch, it asked for access to the inmusic keychain item and crashed. Turn wifi back on, it launches normally...
Why do I need to be online to use this?

standalone crashes instantly here with wifi off.
In VE Pro, wifi off is no problem.
my mistake, now it crashes too
Cubase, same. so much for that
Also, instantiated it in new project ("Instance"), deleted instance and reinstantiated same channel set/BFD preset + in fresh instance, doesn't make me deal with the keychain a second time.
also the 16,1 MBP 16"
