What about BFD?

Anybody know anything since the inMusic takeover? There was a thread here where the developers said what a good thing this would be, and many of us were skeptical of where things would go. There’s been no new update, the last update crashes for me, and many others, you’d think at least that could be fixed by now???? I liked the gui changes, but I can’t use it.
The inMusic site lists BFD as a brand, but there’s no link to it in their ‘Brands’ drop down menu, like there is for their other brands. It’s been enough months to have something in place now, hasn’t it?
I’ve used BFD since version one, and like many of you, I don’t want to see it die. Does anybody know anything? I try to be positive with things generally, but the quietness is a little unsettling...

Yeah, still waiting for something positive to happen. New website, something, anything.

I've been in touch with Drew here and there and it sounds like it's actively being developed right now. I don't have any inside knowledge to this effect, but my assumption has been we'll be seeing a BFD4 in due time. Would make sense that they'd launch a new site and product all at once.

That makes sense with the BFD 4 idea, and I hope that’s what happens. It would have looked good though to have fixed that last update at least and show us that they are indeed making progress, however, I understand that they aren’t obligated to assuage our concerns.

Who, what and where did you contact?Zookes wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2020 5:13 am Support for BFD is silent, ignoring my requests from many weeks ago !
I was foolish to purchase so much recently. There is no care for customers now.

Many messages to support@bfddrums.com tho I receive no confirmation or reply each time. FXpansion support tells me to use this and do not help with problems.
For BFD there is no official site to make support requests, so I use this email and nothing happens.

Hey Zookes,
I don't know what's going on with support. I will look into it. Please PM me here for whatever you need, or email me at drew AT fxpansion DOT com. My FXP email is still active for a bit. Whatever is happening, I'll try and sort you out.
As to what we're working on - super top secret. I'd have to sever my head from my body and donate it to science if I said anything. Which might be a win-win for everyone, but I quite like my head.
Regarding a BFD3 build to address crashes. I do have one that is a super internal build that addresses some stuff. PM me and I'll hook you up.
Cheers!

Thanks for joining in Drew. I understand you can’t say too much, it’s just good to hear something since there was valid concern regarding the parent company. PM sent.

Could you leak an ETA without having to suffer said consequences?Amberience wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2020 3:59 pm As to what we're working on - super top secret. I can't leak an ETA simply for the fact that we're not 100% sure ourselves yet! We are making progress on the things we're building, but that's as much as I can say right now. I can tell you that I'm looking at putting together a set of BFDers for some market research and UX+UI research, and have a list of users in mind.

Now there is a new website and a new version. Has anybody experience with the new version? The website needs work. Hope BFD sounds the same as before. I don't care about the new effects, never used the BFD effect section. I like BFD the way it was - ugly but beautiful. Greetings

I've installed the new version. Be prepared for annoyance like having to scan for the content like it's the first time, after having to log in with a password 4 times...
GUI the same, a lot of new FX.

Thanks for letting us know. I am not going to install 3.4 (the latest) based on your experience. I'm find with BFD3 the way it is. I have most of the FXP expansions plus many 3rd party and so the scanning will take a long time and frankly I dont trust it will work as before.jancivil wrote: Mon Apr 19, 2021 9:37 pm I've installed the new version. Well, the scanning was extremely fast, unlike it has been in the past. I mean screamingly fast. It may have accessed caches or something from the earlier installation. I probably have fewer things than you, but this is a 250GB folder. A few seconds, not minutes.
I don't trust anything. The preset loading is pretty much the same, fast here on an NVME SSD, prob. not faster than before. EDIT: probably is loading them faster, actually. I loaded one of mine I use every day and it was never this fast.
The first thing I saw was one of the Crush presets with massive FX loaded.
It is probably going to see my Auto Map tweaks differently, remains to be seen.
