Hmm, I don't mind digital effects pedals as many of them seem to be that way. I can't say these
are overly interesting for me personally.

The implications for Amplitube are a bit weird. Let's see if I have this right:

16 new algorithms for each of four pedals = 64 new/improved gear models that IK have been sitting on.

These will be available in Amplitube for X-Gear owners via a virtual X-Gear pedal. Does this mean that:
  • The best effects in Amplitube will initially be exclusive to hardware owners? Surely a software-only license will become available soon if so.
  • The best effects in Amplitube will be controlled from a multi-fx interface within Amplitube, which is itself a multi-fx interface? Seems clunky.
  • The actual "stock" stomp effects in Amplitube will continue to be a bit dated for at least the lifespan of Amplitube 5, while IK sit on superior versions?
Helix platform still looking good...
Wait until they make hw amp(s)

Of course, it's a pedal release and I'm sure they'll sell well. Getting into the iOS world was probably one of the smartest business decisions they've made because as they've expanded their hardware offerings, there's a large user base that has grown their buying power as they've gotten older.

I'm not interested because it's IK. They're okay with that and I'm okay with them not advertising to me so we're good.

Their "boutique" labeling is odd but no more so than Roland using it.

This is the thing that IK doesn’t seem to get. An ampsim with inaccurate models of basic gear like the RAT, TubeScreamer and CE-2 is worthless in The current year.
Apparently these are new/updated models. My guess is they'll integrate them properly in Amplitube 6.

IK making new multi-fix units with new models of the Uni-Vibe and RAT pedals instead of much needed updates to the existing Uni-Vibe and RAT pedals in AmpliTube makes me concerned that AmpliTube is is being left to wither.

So let me guess, these pedals are going to show in AmpliTube as unpurchased until you drop $1k on the hardware units…

you weren't replying to someone questioning your business model. There are people not even close to wowed by this, that's life.

on a positive note, yous did streamline the product manager nicely sometime between now and this time last year

Plenty of new musicians born every year, who will grow up wanting and needing pro gear. I prefer slick ads that hold my attention, there is plenty of dross out there, that won't stay in my browser for more than a few seconds.

I did notice that the guitarist's giant black boots didn't touch the pedal buttons. Makes me think there's a reason for that, which wouldn't inspire pre-orders. I have boots like that, not as shiny, to be sure, which I never wear indoors, let alone when making music.

There was a promo question a while back, asking If I own or use any pedals.
At the time I thought it was a really strange question. Makes sense now. Beancounters at play. At the asking price, they'll have to throw in a maxed-out A5 MAX for me to purchase a pedal, if only because I have more tools than time to use them. But someone just starting out, or someone adding software to their guitar gear, will get a very nice setup to grow into.
Cheers

I love my Fender modeling amps. If IK did their own take on a
Fender Mustang V style head, with solid Amplitube integration, I'd get one.
