Nested track stacks, MIDI FX recording, Ableton Link, the stompbox pedals can now be used as individual plugins, stuff to make recording without a preset tempo easier (huge for me!), smart tempo tweaks

I'll take it.

I just opened up Sculpture. It's been in there for 20 years and I'm still WTF?-ing when I see it.

Also, the new Sampler plugin is the replacement for EXS24, with the added Quick Sampler. Utrabeat was replaced by Drum Machine Designer, more or less. All the other original synths need updating, however.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Great update! It puts other DAWs to shame for their paid updates!

The tempo related updates is huge and it is for both Midi and Audio! Nested tracks are wonderfully implemented. I really love the direction of Logic development. They are concentrating mostly on how to enhance the workflow and make life easier for musicians. All that for $200 I paid some years ago!!! Unbelievable!

I agree with that the old synths need graphic updates especially ES1, ES2 and other small old synths. I just hope they don't remove them instead of updating because they still sound great.

Oh by the way, macProVideo.com has a free good what's new course:

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

from the release log
...Logic can now capture MIDI data from AUv3 plug-ins as regions...

The update is not showing up for me yet (is it Ventura only? it just showed up), but I'm pretty sure it means you can now record the output of say, the Arpeggiator as individual MIDI notes. Will be great for things like five12's Numerology or Kirmu Cream, among other MIDI manglers.

I love their quicksampler. It’s almost too easy to get something useable out of it. Feels like cheating.

go to your account where it lists your purchases and click on logic it'll take you to the logic app store page and the update should be there. for some reason logic never shows up for me in the usual place and i have to go to the logic page to see the update and download.

Yeah it just popped up an hour ago or so. Weird, but I'm busy with the day job today anyway.

I should have waited and stayed with v5.5 :dog: Anyway, I have only one DAW (Live) I might update in the future, but with Logic now, it ticks everything I want. No compromise in anything!
Oh Bitwig seems now the lowest value for money you can buy! :hihi: just to think they wanted to sell native plugins on top of their yearly plan makes you laugh

It will actually be 10 years in 2023 which is pretty amazing. We've been getting fairly consistent "free" updates since 2013. Maybe we'll get LP11 next for for the 10 year anniversary.

Its been the same way here since the day I bought it heh. I only find out there are even updates from seeing it posted on sites like here or at GearSpace. Went and looked for it last night when I got home from work, bunch of other stuff was in my Updates list but not Logic. Went to the Logic Pro page itself, and after a second it refreshed and the Open button turned into Update. It might show up a couple days later, but I usually grab it the day its released. I noticed this morning the Garageband update finally showed up, not sure if that was released yesterday with it and didnt show up until the next day though.
