All it needs is a button that says “auto sync” or something. Could be easily turned on/offexmatproton wrote: Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:05 pmNot sure which DAW you use, but in FL Studio i can just send the midi from the sequencer (incl. velocity/accent) to another instrument.dayjob wrote: Tue Aug 22, 2023 9:35 pm it's pretty annoying that the sequencer doesn't start playing when i press play in my DAW. i hate that i have to press the hold button then trigger it via midi or press a step to get it to start. i know it's the way (all?) some of the other 303 emulators work but i think it's dumb. makes it more difficult to use in some environments since it won't just auto sync to transport when i start the transport of the DAW. annoying enough to be a deal breaker for me.
also, couldn't get midi out to work. no hints in the manual. shrug.
Also, i am glad this sequencer ISN'T 'auto starting'. Not a fan of that at all. With this sequencer it is easy to modulate starting times and pitch. Great stuff, imho
edit: i checked out stepic and it has this exact feature as an option. you can even save a default. it play automatically in sync w/the DAW or only when it is being fed midi. being just a sequencer is is obviously much more capable. that's its entire purpose. it also has 8 automation lanes assignable to anything in the DAW or to midi CCs. even has a "ping" feature where it mutes the sequencer and sends that CC to its destination to confirm that it's correctly set up. pretty cool.
anyway.. i think Acid V is cool and funky and sounds pretty good but i don't really use that sound so often. i think it's hobbled my its sound engine and they missed an opportunity to add a surprise and expand on the idea of "ACID" as a genre and sound. sending sequences from Acid V to DX V is awesome. so many weird things happen depending on which algorithm is chosen in DX
