And this is when I think it’s good to point out BS updates and broken promises. They’re under the umbrella of venture capitalism. Customers rarely win out (if ever) from these types of deals.

I hope for others that I’m wrong.

Unless I see something that suggests otherwise, I don’t care to put my money towards them coasting on NI’s shaky reputation.
Not venture capitalism, but private equity firm. There is a difference:

https://www.propublica.org/article/what ... ate-equity

Contains both pros and cons of private equity firms in an informative and balanced treatment.

For many years, I have had the impression that NI was poorly managed, typical for companies started by techies such as I am. I have little doubt that they wasted a lot of money. Financial restructuring, hopefully one of the improvements that the private equity firm has in mind for resale of NI, may be just what NI needs to flourish again.
Private equity can be a disaster, but it can also save a company from itself. My wife worked for a company that had poor leadership and lots of issues. They got purchased and soon after it seemed like a good time to cash in and get out. Years later, I asked if she ever kept tabs on what happened to that company, and they were actually doing really well, though the transition period was rough.

How would we find your generous gift?
Go to tone.net > TONEX [there's an Amplitube and TONEX section] and search for Funkybot or AC15C1X. You'll find them. If you search for funkybot, I've done a ton of amp captures, not just the Vox. Pedals too!

Thanks! Going though them now. Lots of gems!

Thank you for the article. I fear that as a user, I find this more troubling.

Even before the sale, I wanted to hold off to see how things would come about between Izotope, PA & NI.

I’m guessing it’ll be a couple more years before the next big change?

I was safe in ignoring this upgrade until I heard NI's promo vid on Youtube. The 4 new models are killing it and the new FX are fairly unique and also sounding lovely. I may fold even at $99; albeit I wasn't coveting promised, imaginary amps at that time/no axe to grind.
GR6 consolidated some things and seemed like a good idea. I've used it like once, tho

I got this with with Ozone 11 and Nectar 4 as a $41 upgrade.

The new Amp and pedal models are pretty damn amazing and the signal flow feature is a game changer for split signal chains.

Guitar Rig has always been a bit of a secret weapon as a general multi fx plugin and this update only adds to that particularly with the signal chain overview function.

41$ upgrade !!!! Where were you coming from. My upgrade from Music Production 5 was much more...

I am very well impressed by guitar rig though... Wasn't expecting much and in fact it sound really great...

At JRR Shop (Perhaps elsewhere) if you purchased MPS5 August or later you got the upgrade to MPS6 for low $40, also if you didn't qualify for the August deal but were quick enough you could get it MPS6 also.

As for GR7, still don't think much of it, 3rd part cab IR's must be used for it to sound anywhere remotely listenable. Basically amps only with 3rd party IR's otherwise forget it, still sounds like shit. IMO :) YMMV :)

[Edit] quality 3rd party IR's, and 3rd party IR's in the sense that they are outside of GR7 to begin with, not included in stock GR7.

But the IRs are third party.
The factory library includes IRs by 3 Sigma Audio, Bogren Digital, cabIR, Kohle Audio Kult, and Lancaster Audio.

Yeah, pretty laughable statement indeed...

and crap.

Sorry for leaving out 'quality'

quality 3rd party IR's.

3rd party IR's in the sense that they are not contained within stock GR7 to begin with, but outside of what was released with GR7. But I think you already realized that, if you didn't you must be pretty much brain dead, woops it appears you didn't :hyper:

Of course there are 2 distinct type of cabs contained within stock GR7, all of which are crap. IMO, YMMV ;)

True - those companies all deliver bad IRs to NI on purpose - it's all a secret plot to make people purchase their independently sold libraries. NI of course are in on it too. "Yeah, give us whatever", their CEO said, "as long as it's free I don't mind".

But jinotsuh won't get fooled by this evil scheming - he knows quality when it enters his precious ears.
