Great 'free' update. Especially the m.core support is lovely 👌🏻

Post

Awesome update. Pigments just keeps getting better. Nothing but love for this synth.

Post

Nice update from Arturia. I wish Falcon could have audio in module as Pigments.

A lot of companies would have split this off to a new paid version at some point, but they just keep ramping up the improvements for us for free. Great product, great company.
It's pretty amazing what owners of the original Pigments 1 have gotten for free over the years. Compare that to other developers who charge $75 or more for a minor update.
Agree. And thats why I would get their new expansion bundle on each version updates in order to support them. :D

Great update. The sequencer is much improved from what I can see. Made a nice randomised FM patch today, great fun. Definitely noticing an improvement in CPU usage- I have a heretofore unusable bunch of granular vocal presets that showed a good 20% less usage. I've really struggled to use Pigments due to its heaviness, especially with Phase Plant in the arsenal but I'm pleased to think Pigments may finally get some usage. Haven't tried the audio in thing yet, but will do.

Also played with the Arturia Vocder today, using Vital to make some words and throwing them into the Sampler. Excellent stuff from Arturia...

Ditto (and it helps when you get 3 packs for 20 bucks!). That said, they don't seem to have appeared yet!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It is strange..They aren't in the store, but they are in your account on their website and there are installers there.. so I manually installed them that way.

In most presets the change of the first macro knob is quite drastic. With the LinnStrument there's not a lot of space on the Y axis so it's basically impossible to play it completely controlled. It would be so much nicer, if Timbre/Slide were a proper modulation source (like ATouch) and I could assign it myself the way I need it for my instrument and playing style. Or maybe choose how strongly it would affect the Macro knobs.
Demoing it with the Seaboard Rise 2, I love the fact that it's now assigned to M1 (which is already mapped to parameters in the presets I've tested) by default. The Slide (Y axis) playability was good in all the presets I tested, even though I had Slide set around 50% (so I was only using half of the available Y axis space). But if you're correct about it not being available as distinct from M1 then yes it would be better to have the option to change that.

I noticed that Pigments also has settings for different Arturia midi controllers, perhaps it would make sense for them to have settings for some of the most popular MPE controllers. The Rise 2 does have much more Y axis space than the Linnstrument.

You can also preview a playable selection of patches through the store built into Analog Lab

Interestingly, it still doesn't show up (for me anyway) on the built in store in pigments.

Yes I like the automatic M1 assignment as well. And it makes sense when moving to polyphonic expression, as basically the mod wheel becomes per key. Also, they now have slide settings for unipolar or bipolar which is great. I don't think these settings were here in V4?

For the linnstrument, I'd suggest one of two things:
1) Reduce modulation amounts when using it in bipolar mode, otherwise it's too hard to control so you would probably only want subtle y axis modulation.
2) Set the linnstrument to unipolar mode, with only upwards modulation. This allows you to favor the lower section of pads for no modulation, and modulate only upwards for more drastic modulation. It's easy to control and keep to no modulation, as opposed to having to play exactly in the middle of the cell. So you can set Pigments to relative unipolar for this. If you have linnstrument set to bipolar, you can set pigments to relative bipolar with the macro all the way down and get similar behavior.
