Filter sweep in wave table generator.... How do you do that?
Sorry, I meant in the wavetable editor - you can apply different cutoffs to different points of the wavetable or, if you're feeling adventurous, you can assign completely different filter types to individual frames and morph between them.
Ah ok, clear.Thanks for clarifying.

Phaseplant is pure genius in how it addresses the trade-off between 'flexible' and 'easy to use'.

Some people claim it doesn't sound good, but IMO it's a very neutral and uncolored synth, which is a good thing. A big sonic personality like Diva or whatever hardware emulation wouldn't make much sense because it's not that kind of device.

That said, I don't love the filter modules either (Filter Table notwithstanding). They're not very versatile and the resonances aren't as pleasing as they could be. Advanced or novel filter shapes require some combination of modulators, Shape EQ, Filter Table, pairing Shaper Table with filters, etc. Having a filter module with a wide variety filter types and adjustable parameters like Minimal's Hybrid Filter or Serum's filter module would add some convenience to the process.

And while the quantity of effects in PP is incredible, the quality is hit or miss. Disburser and the 'Table' effects are great, but IMO the rest are mostly uninspiring, like the filters. They work, fit nicely in the UI, have the right parameters, but not much else.

Overall, killer instrument though. Like the synth version of a multitool.

I still think of Phase Plant as an audio rate modulation mayhem machine (probably because that's what it was introduced to me as). It's obviously way more than that but I rarely reach for PP itself. I do use those effects everywhere, though.
I hate signatures too.

2 questions.

How the f**k can I have missed that ? Is it new ? (I blame kvr not telling me lol).

2nd is : with this is mind, how can phaseplant not be considered the absolut king of the soft synths? There was a time it's filters were weak but it is not the case anymore, I love the non-linear filters they sound awesome.
So it f I recapitulate; crazy flexibility yet great convenient UI. Super power associated with top class sound. This synth has no weakness (maybe for some the lack of proper arpeggiators or midi FX).
I didn't realize this at first either. I probably pulled up a preset and saw a filter in the effects lane and figured that's where they went, so I didn't bother looking. Some one said the audio rate filter modulation was good, and I couldn't figure out how to do it, and some dork had a tutorial that used the audio follower to do it and it sucked. Then someone pointed out you put them in the Source lane and I was off to the races.

Yes man, this synth continues to evolve for the best.
