T-RackS 6 now available

So I have every TR5 plugin, but apparently my coupon is only 50 instead of 99 off. I bought a few plugins individually (Tape collection, Reverbs) then many from group buys. Regardless I paid for every TR5 plugin. But I don’t get the full discount. But someone who just bought the whole TR5 Max V2 bundle for 50 gets 99 off, despite me spending much much more than this over the years. Thanks IK!

Anyway regardless, I don’t see anything worth upgrading here. A bunch of generic plugins and they added side chaining to old plugins. Everything else is the same. Oh wait, they updated the logo on the old plugins, this is what I needed to convince me to open my wallet for them. Thanks IK, you really know what your customers want.

If you use that $50 coupon on the base-level T-RackS, I think it will upgrade everything for you, and you'll have spent $50 if I've got it right.

I have to ask the inevitable question. I am pretty sure I already know the answer, but we won't know until the question is asked:

I bought TS4 Max less than three months ago. Any grace period or other considerations, other than the fact that I now own TR5 Max v2 as part of the bundle? I do see the $99 offer when I go to the site, but I am more interested in some kind of grace period discount due to my recent purchase. Thank you

Sorry to inform you that IK is not giving a grace period to those that bought a month ago let alone 3 months ago. The sad reality is if you get into bed with a dog with fleas, you're going to get fleas. So I don't get in bed with predatory companies like IK

If you purchased it the minute before 6 came out, you must pay $99 to get the new version.

That 99.99 upgrade offer to T-RackS 6 MAX is $100 off the upgrade price for any others so it is offering a half price options (or 1/3 of the price new users would pay) for that. Those who bought T-RackS 5 MAX v2 for 49.99 right before v6 came out can get everything for less than new users or users upgrading from a lesser/previous version. Their net spend needed to be less than the normal upgrade pricing, including the 49.99 paid for T-RackS 5 MAX v2.

Was it $50? I didn't do the purchase, we have a person for that. I just sent a link. That's a different story then. I thought we paid $99, which was the last price I saw it at.

I appreciate that the Mac installer finally lets you choose your plugin format.

Also noticed that VST2 is no longer supported. VST3, AU, AAX only.

Yes but is there any way to NOT install absolutely every plugin for the selected format??

No, they all get installed, but then you can hide them with the T-RackS Plugin Manager. I suppose this allows them to be made available at any time, if you want to buy or demo them.

Doesn't appear to be. This would have been a great opportunity for IK to make some AI-assisted DSP updates for more accurate modeling.

So if you just use T-RackS as plugins in your DAW, you're really not getting anything new from paying for the privilege to update your existing TR5 plugins, except for some minor GUI tweaks. You also lose VST2 support, if that matters to you.

You either club your plugins and release them as Max 3,4,5....this v2, v3 thing is so confusing....

I hope you'll give relief to people like me for at least TS5 Max?? Or there also you'll ignore us and only give discounts to TS 4 Max v2 people??

Man this is turning out to be one ugly scenario!!

Can't shake the feeling out being played at every major release....every time I swallow the bitter pill and upgrade, and every time I feel some other group of 'loyal' customers got the discount? Making me feel like a fool!!

I'm getting tired out it now....

So people who upgrade to Max versions are at utter loss seeing they paid lump some amount for these Max versions only to find individual premium plugins suddenly available for peanuts? (Group buys and random sales like Audio plugin deals, etc)

As zerocrossing said, you've to be sharp and clever to buy group buys at correct times then you'll get all these discount benefits....

So it seems that loyalty is lesser than cleverness for ikm...

Space Delay in T-Racks 6 MAX instantly crashes Cubase 13 Pro (latest version) on Windows 11 Pro. Nothing is needed to reproduce other than starting Cubase and then trying to load Space Delay on a channel (either insert or send/return). I opened a support ticket, we'll see what they say and how long to fix.

Otherwise, I'm pretty happy so far with the upgrade, but that's only because I've learned never to buy anything unless it's on a decent sale. I picked up T-RackS 5 MAX v2 last November for $67.19 (with the group discount code) from JRRShop. Adding $99 almost a year later is still a reasonable deal (for me).

If I had a complaint, it'd be these Jam Points because I can never seem to use them on anything. I'm not buying anything from IK at full price, so they seem useless.

If you own Total Studio 4 Max I think the sensible thing to do is just wait for Total Studio 5 and upgrade then as it should include T-Racks 6. Knowing IK, the upgrade price from Total Studio 4 to 5 will be exactly the same regardless of whether you paid extra to get access to T-Racks 6 early.

Total Studio 5 MAX inc TR6 is the only way to go- probably in a BF sale! Personally I don't see anything I need in TR6, its all nice...but nothing I don t already have. ...been that way a while, probably why I am still on TS MAX 3!
