These right click pop up tool bars have gone in the clip and arranger view, why i have no idea as it's slower now. Not everyone wants to work with keybaord shortcuts and it makes no sense to now go all the way over to the right of the screen to select a tool when you're editing on the left side of the screen :dog:
Thanks... sorry for not understanding sooner.

I still have those menus, though they are re-organized somewhat.

And in the Arrange, if you have the new hover behavior, so that there is no time select on the bottom half of clips (there is a settings option to have split clips like before) then some of the options are not there (like start and end clip) unless you select the time tool.

I also found the scrub tool to be confusing, its doesnt work as i expected and if i try to play audio on a track thats going to groups/busses, it mutes those groups/busses so i can't even hear the clip of audio i want to audition.
If a track is inside a group, then the audition tool plays, but I can confirm that if a track is routed to another track, the audition tool is silent. I'd call that a bug since solo'ing the track plays.

If you are so inclined, send in a bug report about it. I'll do the same.

Haha, no need for the apologies :tu:
Yeah i found the smart tool selection hover feature after emailing support as they turned the feature off by default, no idea why as i'm sure it confused a few more users.

The tool bar pop up feature though, i think you misunderstood what i'm talking about. I'm talking about the tool section bar that comes up in V5 upon a right click, you know, the pointer, knife, rubber tool bar. They confirmed they removed it and we have to use the fixed panel on the far right of the screen. so i filmed a clip of me chopping chords in a piano loop by ear to play a new progression in both versions and clearly V5 is quicker with the right click pop up tool. that's on both the time line and the edit view. No going back and forth from one side of the screen to the next and no ned to remember 6 = this tool and 7 = that tool. Everyone has different workflows and they removed one that's the most used in the program for many iof us

anyway i sent them the video, instead of acknowledging it, they said you should chop audio like this and that, like how we say, and not how you like to chop audio and not how your muscle memory has done it over the last decade with the right click tool bar pop up :dog: lol

I've noticed some other big issues blocking me upgrading as it slows workflow down from V5.
In V5 i can see over 32+ tracks with all the parts on screen and their routings. So if i open old projects, or new one 6 months from now, i can go birdseye view and see my routings, same if i get a project from a friend. Quick easy and logical

So I reported this to bitwig with images and video as you can no longer do this in V6 with the GUI changes they made. They replied and said go use the mixer view to see the routings in version 6.
Here's the mixer view in Version 6, no parts, nowhere close to 32+ tracks in view.
Maybe it's just me but which of the two would be more helpful to quickly see multiple track routings in your project, V5 arranger view or V6 mixer view as everything i feedback to them they dismiss with a super quick email reply?

Thanks for confirming, i tested it on 3 systems myself. I have reported it a few times this week, with video too, still no reply or acknowledgment about about it though. No idea why but i think they're upset with me when all i've been doing as a 6+ hour per day user of bitwig, is feedback where things have broke or got slower.

Actually installed Studio One again to figure it out but man, it's confusing with all the new stuff they've added. Hopefully bitwig fix all this stuff and bring back what they removed as i'd prefer to stick with it, been using it since V1.

For instance I never used RMB and this popup, I remembered shortcuts and it was super fast, like hold 5 (for knife tool) and release (go back to previous tool). It was way faster for me.
If I am not mistaken, these shortcuts can be reassigned and maybe even used with mouse (like mx master and its button assignment).

Yes and that's great, you have your workflow and others have theirs, that's the beauty of making music, there's no rules and nobody forcing you against how you normally or want to work. Plus with both workflows we can blend the two too.

So i mostly use the right click tool bar, but for splitting i have a shortcut, consolidating a short cut. I actually have stickers on my usb keyboard for the tools as at times i use those. But im not remembering numbers especially when on my laptop and I'm certainly not putting stickers on it like my cheap usb keyboard. So i rely on the right click bar exclusively then. Most people use laptops these days too and i'm sure none of you want to put stickers on it. I'd say most users, and put me in that camp, don't want to remember shortcuts, we want to remember presets, chords, tricks, plugins and sounds, etc, not random number brings up x tool.

So why remove features users got used to when you can just add and let the user choose. You can use the shortcuts, i can use the right click pop up tool, the next person can use the fixed panel they added, and we can all blend, all users are happy and free to choose.

They did say they'd likely be putting it back in, at some point, when, who knows. But to remove it in the first place makes no sense to me, especially with it being a feature for a decade and the beta lasting several months

Lots of people complained about it. Also, lots of new users had issues understanding it. I don't think there is a correct choice, but I can see why they decided off by default. Keeping it off is one of my favorite new features of V6 :tu:

Oh, yeah... duh!

They took that out and I can see why you would miss it.

They did add more tools though. There are 7 with audio now. 8 with midi clips. They would not all fit anymore. I suppose you could have icons, but not text names.

There's more stuff in the right click menus now, but there is still room.

More and more curious who's doing the UI stuff now.
Seems to be a blind mole smoking something unhealthy.
What?? The gui is great for me.

I work in a not too bright room with side lights and it's just right. Are you working in a brightly lit room or something?

I thought I wasn't mistaken that Bitwig 5 had lot's of fancy Note FX but on second glance the list looks pointless. I was getting ready to work with them. I hope they add something more meaningful to Bitwig 6.x updates than the big jump to v6.

What note fx do you want that aren't there?

I thought mine had interesting "Ornament" fx and various realtime MIDI timing/shifting ones + doubling and things much more similar to orchestral scoring but easier and they seem to be gone.

No Note FX were removed in V6. I don't remember one called Ornament.

It seemed to have lot's of scale note fx and the known basics that aren't special like chording and all the mouse painting tools. No big thing. Looking forward to seeing what further 6.x brings. Not excited on v6.
