Does anyone get the feeling that after we get done learning the new features, we will finally understand what has taken so long? Also, does anyone else believe that with T2, Tracktion will really be jumping into a whole new level of software? Maybe just a hunch, but..........

I think you may be spot on, but time will tell. However:koolkeys wrote:Does anyone get the feeling that after we get done learning the new features, we will finally understand what has taken so long? 1. I doubt Mackie would want their software to be seen as "the easy jet of sequencers" (as Computer Music put it) or as a cheap/inferior product
2. 64 bit processing puts it straight to the serious professional end of the spectrum, and takes it well ahead of - for example - Sonar.

Ooh, birthday presents for me.LBN wrote:I'm guessing an official announcement somewhere between January 20 and 23.
A non-destructive clip reverse would be lovely. And a destructive high-quality timestretch. And improved MIDI. I'm pleased about the 64-bit thing - most likely I won't be able to tell the difference, but it will be a nice audiophile stick to beat the owners of other sequencers with.
Keep it up, Jules.

pleeeeeeease!!!
oh, to be able to 'autofit' an audio clip, or change the tempo of an edit and have all the clips stretch to match...

Don't know about that. Based on Jules(or was it Beno?)'s post, it seems they are having some kind of debate over the positioning of T2.headquest wrote: 1. I doubt Mackie would want their software to be seen as "the easy jet of sequencers" (as Computer Music put it) or as a cheap/inferior product

I still firmly believe if they position T2 into the big sequencer's realm, it'll be a commercial suicide.
As for 64 bit engine...it's another marketing trick.(errr. I've been brain-washed by gol I guess

IMO, with my soundcard (firepod) the difference will be minimal.
no dif. with cheaper cards.
= i don't care much for 64/192.

I'm with you. No big deal for me, but the main thing that's going to be important looking down into the future is that it'll probably (I'm just guessing-- I'm not a programmer and have no working knowledge of such things) make for a smoother and quicker re-compile to 64-bit OS when it arrives.
ACID and/or REX support right on the timeline would be sweet.

Except for Zynewave Podium whic already has 64 bit mixer resolution and 64 bit sound bit resolution.Id Lab wrote: I'm pleased about the 64-bit thing - most likely I won't be able to tell the difference, but it will be a nice audiophile stick to beat the owners of other sequencers with.
Having said that, I'm as pleased as you are,
T2 is shaping up nicely.

My ONLY fear with this release is this: Too much emphasis on hardware support. I mean, controllers, hard drive imports, etc. are all great things, IF YOU USE THOSE THINGS. But many people do not. But I'm confident that Mackie and Jules have yet to announce the biggest features. I'm eagerly awaiting, and checking back every day!

Plus, Beno did say that "possibly" the feature list is so big that they are releasing new features more frequently than once a week. I really don't think he would toy with this forum considering all that has happened.
