ben has told us of a few things that wont be done yet :?:

why would he keep this hush hush

i reckon its comming :D

Post

If it's coming, I doubt it'll be in 2.0. As already mentioned, those loops are for Sampletank.... that doesn't imply at all that there will be timestretch in the timeline other than what already exists.

Sorry, you were all were waiting for me to reply? My bad. There have been no changes to Pitch Shift/Time Stretch for version 2.0. Sorry, we couldn't do everything for this release and there were many things, including new PS and TS algorithms, that didn't make it.

Dang  :-o :o

ahhhhhhhhh SHITE!

:( :( :(

future plans Beno?

been waiting nearly 2 friggin years!

Post

Yeah, please tell us more Beno. You imply it is on the agenda?

It just seems odd to me that T2 has so many top-drawer features aimed at "pro" and "semi-pro" users, but comes with a TS and PS that are unusable.

Is Jules working on this for T2.1 or something, and if so when *might* that be (i.e, this year, next year...)

Or failing that couldn't one be licensed (like Image Line did for FL5)?

Post

damn. one of the most requested features left out.

why oh why.

please let us know if there are track folders and ghost midi clips?

I think it's the most requested feature... :?

oh wait - T2 has 64bit processing instead :dog:

(and there has been even one user (Robert Randolph) asking for it...)

Post

THE most requested? Not even close.

Timestretch is way far behind MIDI improvement and Audio loop recording.

Man, Jules is only one dude, and from what I've seen he's done a hefty amount of work.

BTW, be prepared for no Track Folders, either. However, if the looped recording mode has its own way of organizing different takes, I have much less need for Track Folders.

agreeed on midi-improvement...

But I have been the loudest voice begging for audio-loop-recording and I was always kind of dissapointed that so few people asked for it because I figured that would lessen the chance for getting implemented... :?

Jorgen is only one dude as well and he still has a different daytime-job and he doesn't get supported by a big company to improve eXT and look where it nonetheless already is... :?

Post

Yes, eXT is also missing a tonne of features, though. They're just different features. Each has their strength, but each also has its set of requests on the wishlist. Also, Jorgen is only half human.

Tracktion is, on the other hand, a decent amount more stable.

I don't intend to badmouth eXT, though-- I'm a very big champion of the program and of Jorgen, so you'll never catch me saying anything intentionally disrespectful or negative about either of them. :D

i love eXT too, but where eXT piles on the features, Tracktion still (not that i've tried T2 yet of course) focuses on intuitive interaction. no matter how many features eXT has gained lately, it's still relatively difficult to actually make a song in unless you really know your way around it.

of course jens, i know you can fly around eXT... but i can't and i find it a real drudge to actually use it as my daddy sequencer. that's not a problem for me tho! :D i loves T, me! :D

no hard feelings of course! you know we're tight, mr jensenbensen!
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

track folders are a big deal for me, or at least lockable track size or something. the lack of them makes this intuitive program alot less intuitive.

for example. right now im working on a song with 20 elememts just for the drums wich is not abnormal at all, but i give each element its own track, and right there its turn traktions interface a mess to work with.

different people... different software... different circumstances...

Tracktion doesn't stop at T2... :D

I'd rather see ghost-clips and folder tracks over timestretch anyday... but all the pieces will fall into place with time. ;)

No matter how hard I try, I still find using eXT as a main sequencer pretty cumbersome.. regardless of the features improvments. I definately prefer it as tool... which of course is eXT best feature (it adapts to your needs).
