I think it's cheaper with the emailed offer...

why yes! that's a very good reason indeed!

On the UHBIK site it says regarding the X:

"It's going to be a rack of Uhbiks with added modulations and routings."

What does this mean exactly? Will all the modules be present in the rack as a default, and you simply bypass/route them as you please? I can hardly wait!

It's going to be a rack with 4 Uhbiks of your choice, in a single plugin. You can have 4 Flangers or 2 EQs, a Phaser and a Reverb or whatever other combination. Each of these slots can load any preset from the effect it's currently set to, and it can be fully edited with a slightly (*cough* *cough*) smaller interface.

The routing of these 4 effects can be chosen from a set of options, such as serial, parallel, multiband and some combinations of these. Thus you can for instance build a multiband trance gate with different patterns for lows, mids and highs. Some of these routings offer a feedback path with adjustable delay time (this will also make clear why the delay was kept rather rudimentary).

In addition, a comprehensive range of modulators can be used to virtually manipulate any parameter that has a knob. Among these modulators are usual suspects such as MIDI Controllers, LFOs, envelopes and envelope followers. But I'm also cooking up some very spiffy and unique things that I won't mention until they work perfectly

Uhbik X thus is not just an Überuhbik. It also provides the missing depth where the single effects were kept easy for every day use. For instance, Runciter and the EQ will have LFO and deeper envelope functionality and the Tremolo can be expanded by an envelope follower for depth/rate modulation.

Thanks for the response! It sounds awesome.

Sounds very cool... Will it be possible to save a Uhbik-X configuration like a "patch" and thus exchange "patches" with other users? As you describe it, a "patch" for Uhbik-X could almost be like a whole new plugin (like in "multiband trance gate" :), or let's say "multi-band distortion unit"???!!!).

That should be enough of a reason to mention the word "Cooooool! " again. :hihi:

Urs, are you ...from the future? :hihi:

No MSEG's?

I can't wait to put runciter's cutoff knob on a crazy MSEG ...

I'm looking forward to day X! ;)

As far as I understood from ealier posts the VST latency for the combination of any X effects will remain 16 samples, correct?!

Any chance to lower that even more once the main work is done? :phones:
We're all mad in here...

This is nice understatement, but yes. This is super cool. The Uhbiks in itself are cool already but that X thingy will blow it through the roof.

Yep, the overall latency will be 16 samples. The granular device will sometimes add an unforseeable amount to that if instantiated, depending on grain size and/or pitch.

I *could* add a hack for zero latency. That is, if you are 100% sure that your host has a fixed buffer size that is a multiple of 16 (i.e. 64, 128, 192, 256...) samples, then I could skip the internal latency. This would be a quite advanced thing to do though.

I know for sure with Ableton Live, because you can manually set plugin-buffer size at multiples of 32 (64, 128, 256, 512, etc).

No idea about Logic and Sonar though, but I can find out for Sonar by asking Noel Borthwick. Logic/Mainstage needs to be tried I guess.

I want to use Uhbik as live vocal (+guitar) effects preferably running via Mainstage (because Live is unuseable in a Midi Slave scenario and introduces jitter with external VST/AU plugins). As you can imagine I need to wrestle down latencies to as low as possible when playing live.
