I have guitar pedals that cost nearly as much as Bitwig. The power supply to my modular costs as much as Bitwig. Bitwig is half the cost of Live. How you can think $400 is expensive for a musical tool this powerful is simply beyond me.

I am not paying the license fee BECAUSE of bugs in version 1.0 duh.

Good for you...I dont pay subscription fees for people to repair their software, you can burn your money however you like.

I don't think Bitwig is particularly buggy, I come across far more bugs in Live and Studio One.

Ableton has had bugs but not bugs like Bitwig.

Some of those are over 2 years old. On the whole I find it pretty stable and works well, apart from a few design features that need improving (like the preset handling)

You additional point about Live is a matter of opinion. It's slower and clunkier to use than Bitwig for me.

Some. Sure I'd imagine Bitwig 1.3 is better... if 2.0 isn't filled with weird bugs like 1.0 then great.

Whats my additional point about Live? it's definitely not slower, Bitwig slows with less plugins than Ableton... the interface itself maybe is faster, but stuff gets hairy too quickly, I can't get even close to the project size I can make it Ableton, I generally work on large projects, Bitwig drops out way too early.

Have you tried typing Ableton live bug into you tube?

A 3 part video called how to get rid of the big scary bugs in 9.6 is a particular highlight.
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Well that is just too obvious... and as a matter of fact it's not even as bad as Bitwig on Youtube. 2 wrongs dont make a right... .Ableton has been around a long time, it's had some awful releases, but they're not asking for an annual subscription.

Did you actually watch this 3 part video? the title may be a highlight, the content is not. not Ableton bugs, clearly Asio4all system issues.

It's all about context, and thinking in relative terms.

If every other company making modular power supply units managed to make them at the same, or better, quality, for less money, then it would be reasonable for people to complain that your supply is overpriced.

and then imagine if they asked you for an annual subscription.
