Many thanks to Rob and Viktor at u-he support ! I now have the Linux version of Tyrell working nicely with Bitwig 1.3.4, along with the Linux version of Beatzille. Armed with Google translation and my meager knowledge of German I was able to subscribe to the magazine (Beat.de) and download the Linux version of the plugin. It was all fairly smooth sailing, and both plugins work perfectly here at Studio D.

Again, my thanks to u-he for providing these synths for Linux users. That truly rocks. :)

Hi abique

CTRL+Z isn't working under Tyrell 3898 but wow does this synth come with a lot of presets!

Seems I need a better CPU now! :D

Thanks

Ctrl+Z has been fixed in a later revision. :/

Hi abique

Has that later revision not been released /built yet?

I'm looking forward to giving these synths a try! I haven't been having success downloading the tarballs indicated at the start of this thread. Do I need a different link to get them?

I just clicked a few random links, all of them worked and downloaded fine... might sound silly, but was successful several times in the past: have you tried downloading with a different browser or a different machine?

I have difficulties with downloading from these links too. Also, the same thing happens with Bitwig downloads. I think that it depends from your physical location. Perhaps some German hoster or backbone network operator can be the reason of this issue. Here is my workaround that I use for u-he downloads:

Code: Select all

wget -c -t 0 --timeout=1 --waitretry=1 <URL>

The links provided in the first post are CDN links. We use MaxCDN as a Content Delivery Network, they have mirror servers all around the globe, so downloads should be accessible reliably from practically everywhere.

If you have issues with the CDN links, you can also try downloading directly from our own web server. But keep in mind that it's located in Germany and "just a normal website", so downloads will definitely be slower than from the CDN.

For the record, I've had no troubles downloading/installing the plugins from the links. I do note that although they're listed as *.tar.gz files they are identified by my file manager as plain tar files (i.e., not gzipped). Typically I have to rename them by removing the .gz extension before my file manager will uncompress them. It's no big deal for me, and it's likely something being done by Chrome on my end. Still, once everything is installed it all works as it's supposed to, and I'm a happy fellow.

I've experienced download issues from these servers via browser download as well - seems the download just simply times out midway, or get disconnected.
Wget has been the answer for me too. Abique's excellent script is the solution.

swindus wrote:Is there a way to reduce the audio outputs of Uhbik plugins to a stereo out like on windows with adding the suffix _2io to the dll filename? In Ardour the track outputs always extend to 8 outputs and a surround panner is used when adding a Uhbik plugin but I just want to use a plain stereo version. Thanks.
Let me check if we can do something.
Great, thanks.
Still considering? Thanks in advance!

Ok, I got Ace, Diva, Hive and Uhbik downloaded and installed. I find that they cause Carla (KXStudio) to crash, but they appear to work just fine in Qtractor.

On the website, I don't see where to purchase the linux versions, only Mac and Windows. ??

Just buy them as usual. You will receive a serial number which works with any version (Windows/OSX/Linux).

Ok, thanks!
