Hi Moss,

I have this issue where Bitwig is able to read my midi controller and it clearly says that in the Controllers settings that I have used the DrivenByMoss extension (as seen in ref image), but for some reason it doesn't do anything to my midi controller (I can still use it normally though, but without the added functionalities from your patch). It used to work, but for some reason it doesn't anymore. I have tried reinstalling the DrivenByMoss patch and the Komplete Kontrol driver, but it still doesn't work. I need help...

Additional Informations
- Bitwig Version: 5.2
- Midi Controller: Komplete Kontrol S88 mk1
- OS: Windows 11
- Ref Image: https://ibb.co.com/fYQQ194y (https://ibb.co.com/fYQQ194y)

I hope you know what caused this and thank you in advance!

The implementation accesses the device directly via USB. Which means there might be the issue that the NI hardware service grabs the device first. Your safe bet would be to uninstall it (if you do not use it).

I apologize I'm kinda new to this. What is NI Hardware Service and how do I uninstall it? As far as I know the stuffs that I have installed are just Komplete Kontrol driver and Controller Editor.

That's what I wrote in the DrivenByMoss manual:
"In that case, try disabling the NI service and/or try different
USB ports and cables. Explaining how to disable the 'NI hardware integration service' would lead too far in this manual, search the web for a tutorial how to disable a system service on your OS."

Sorry for super basic question.

On Novation Launchpad Pro mk3 is it possible to have one clip playing and select another (or create new) clip and keep the old clip playing? So one clip keeps playing and you could sequence new clip without hearing it.

Hi Moss,

I'm trying to use the controller script Generic Flexi so that I can save patches from my Nord Lead 4 with the project. However, when using this script I can't tweak the knobs on my NL4 without mapping them and have the midi cc automation automatically recorded into the DAW. I can link the knobs to parameters but not just automatically tweaking of the knobs. Using a midi monitor and another daw I can see that it is sending messages.

I messed with it for awhile and then contacted Bitwig support and they said "The midi controller script you are using might be filtering them out and only allow them for mappings. Try the 'Generic Keyboard' script instead, then it should record the raw CC messages."

I tried using the keyboard script and it now records in my midi-cc automation properly.

I'm wondering if this script allows for recording the midi-cc (and if I'm missing a setting) or if it is as Bitwig support says where it filters them out and only allows for mappings?

I'd really like to be able to use it to record the cc and be able to save my patches to the BItwig project if that is possible.

Thank you!

I found out how to disable NI Hardware Service and it didn't work at first, but then I disabled NI Host Integration as well and now it works! Thank you for the suggestion, man!

Do you have any plans to incorporate the Melbourne Instruments Roto-Control into your excelent DrivenByMoss extension?

Cheers,
Joris
No plans?

going to set this up in Reaper for my Komplete Kontrol M32. My question happens to be if there is the capability to set up multiple banks or channels for the CC controls of the knobs on top of the keyboard. I would like to be able to bank through those knobs to control plugin parameters that are not necessarily Kontakt parameters. I.e. amp sim tone stack controls etc.

You can disable "Select clip/scene on launch" in the settings but you need to select the clip in Bitwig.

Bitwig support is right on this. If you want to record CC automation(!) use a simple script which simply tells the Bitwig API to forward MIDI CC.
If you want to use it with Generic Flexi, you could use it with MIDI CC devices.

Since several people asked me about this, I just got in touch with them. They are a bit interested but not enough to send me a test device.

That's sadly a big drawback of the A/M-series, that you cannot switch parameter pages.

I apologize for asking multiple times, but there seems to be an issue again with my device. The previous suggestion you gave to me sure did work, but after around two days not using the DAW and the controller, and then I open it now as I speak, it doesn't work anymore. Again, I can still technically use it as factory-intended without the added functionalities from the patch. I have tested by re-disabling NI Hardware Service and or NI Host Integration Agent, and tried different USB ports, but it still doesn't work. Do you have any ideas why this happen?
