That's great annode! Thanks!
NOTE: I'm a little confused. You are saying that the tools that we wanted are those in the link, and that this is all we need?
Why didn't Kent tell us about this then? Why were we waiting for this app?
Perhaps it's just a matter of a polished app, vs a bare bones utility, but still, it's odd.
whatever, fantastic work!

Most excellent work on posting the "how to adjust the string sensitivity"
I have already added this to the FAQ here:

Before, it was about velocity...now it's about string sensitivity and the app for a SS adjustment was available.
Or they don't want to advertise the app. Maybe they don't want ppl screwing around with it...who knows. haha
...and yes, this app. is all we need to select 1 of 4 sensitivity modes!

yeah, the Baby doesn't really interest me. I need strings like the others in their line.
tapper mike wrote:If it is and if you get a ztar then I would advise not buying a baby. get a z5 or a z7 and stick to your current techniques.torque138 wrote:for me, it's absolutely the velocity range.
Tapping with velocity on the left hand is near impossible to control due to armature. and velocity goes out the window when you set a yrg to tap mode.
On a ztar - while one can't do full bar chords tapping with thee right. Comping and moveables along with melodic playing with velocity dynamis is fairly easy with some practice.

For a Mac you will have to use an Windows emulator (no way around this).
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem with the USB midi connection, but you never know.
You don't have an old Windows machine lying around?
(I thought everybody did)

I just found that I could get a good balance between string tension and sensitivity by tapping on an open string with my finger nail near the bridge plate as I adjust the philips screw tension with my right hand.
I tightened the tension just below the point where the tapping didn't sound the open string.
The mis-reads when set to sensitivity mode 1 are somewhat frequent.
I imagine this can be knocked down somewhat by padding/dampening the strings a little.
If I have any success with this i'll write back. (I may have removed the pickup cover..or maybe I haven't. :& P )

You don't need to run that app....just the control panel app. assuming it works for mac.torque138 wrote:I tried to launch the QT beta and it brings up Terminal and freezes.
obviously an .exe file isn't going to work on my Mac. are there any instructions around for Mac?
The QT I believe needs to be installed because before I did install it, the Control Panel app crashed because it couldn't find a .dll it was after.
It also could have been because I was running my midi-host at the time as well.
If the .exe doesn't run for mac, you'll need to call one of the guys at Inspired to see what's up.

So what was it originally 3 or 2?
If it was 3 then maybe 2 would be the sweet spot.
But it's good the there's also the physical string tightening, like you are doing. Makes for fine tuning, I would hope.

I tried mode 0 and now mode 1, so yes, mode 2 may be best..i'll give it a try a bit later. Thanks!mac wilson wrote:So what was it originally 3 or 2?

Tighter strings may or may not increase mis-reads, not sure yet, but tightstrings rather then loose seem to feel better.

While both strings are performing better (thanks btw) It still needs a liter touch. I think my problem is more mechanical then software.
Also tap still has a gated volume swell but at least I can have a xero start pont.

As i'm screwing around with these adjustments, I found that a VSTi/sampler using a guitar sound/envelope works to help me and make adjustments easier.tapper mike wrote:While both strings are performing better (thanks btw) It still needs a liter touch. I was using Applied Accoustics - Ultra Analog w/a guitar preset.
