the JV1080, XV5080, and all of the SRX derivatives are on the old framework also. They will be the next to go

If it's not Zenology, or available in modern hardware either as a boutique or plugout for the system 8 it's the unsupported framework

Oh, really? The scenario is even worse than I could imagine, then. Half of the instruments I earned through years of subscribing to Roland Clound are now all in danger of being discontinued. :x

I was thinking of extending my P4L Pro membership to get the XV but I think I'll just use the presets that come with Zenology and simply downgrade to Core. I have the JP4 which I've used alot and this year I'll get one of the Junos with the knowledge that there may be no further development or updates. Hopefully they will be good for 5 or so years on my PC.

The Junos and the JP4 are safe for the time being as they are ACB and also run in Roland hardware

When/If Roland comes out with something to replace ACB that's when I would start to worry about them

Roland Cloud is on life support, and Roland Corporate in Japan is not really investing any money into it

All of the ACB and Zenology/Zencore plugins exist in hardware so Roland Japan will invest in those as it supports hardware

Examigan wrote: Fri Jul 12, 2024 10:34 pm I just received the email from RC announcing the Sound Canvas news. If they aren't going to develop it anymore and after Sept 1st, won't sell it anymore, they should sell it for cheap (maybe around 50% off) until that date.

Maybe down the road they will just offer it for free (for a limited time) like they did with Concerto/Anthology.
Hey Examigan, there is always a possibility that there could be a revamp, v2 or update to Sound Canvas, that is originally what we wanted to do. We understand that people love Sound Canvas and nobody here wanted it to be discontinued. It would be impossible in a timely fashion to update Sound Canvas to fit the mold of all our other instruments because it is an early early Roland Cloud creation. Because of this Sound Canvas does not work for some users and we can't in good conscience continue to sell it for that reason. It is entirely possible we could offer it for free for all users at some point as well, but again, it is unreliable outdated software. We aren't set in stone one way or the other and appreciate your patience with this. I would like to reiterate that we don't see this issue occurring with our other plug-ins, the circumstances around Sound Canvas are truly different.

Hello fmr, your instruments are not at risk. The XV-5080 and JV-1080 do not have the same issue as Sound Canvas.

Please feel free to reach out to me for clarification and concerns. I am happy to answer your questions about this.

Says the guy who said Sound Canvas was safe when it clearly was not

This would be a great time Jon to tell us all what are "the few" instruments you are referring to. Your silence is screaming right now

You claim it's not the 1080 or 5080, awesome then what instruments are you referring to? Obviously you were referring to something

Ctrl+Alt+Del RCM
Uninstall RCM
Install from download.
Sign in etc.
Spinning orange circle
RCM disappears off screen
Load up again and I can see the GUI.
No other updates available.
Close app with X
Reopen again and after a little orangino I can see the GUI.

Hey ReiKru! Most users seem to be able to move past this by a hard restart of Roland Cloud Manager. Have you tried this and are still experiencing issues?

Post

Jon, you must have missed this since you skipped right over it, so again I ask, you said

So which ones are they since you say it's not the XV5080 or JV1080
