I'm on Windows 11 Pro, latest release channel build. My samples usually reside in my Documents folder on my C drive but for this test, they were on my desktop. Location doesn't seem to make a difference, the same original file hangs no matter where it's loaded from. And yes, SM3 (v303) installed yesterday with a clean install (I deleted all of the folders you stated in an earlier comment prior to installation, which included the files mentioned above. DAW is Bitwig Studio 5.2.4. PC is Ryzen 5600G with 32 GB of RAM.kv331 wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 5:52 pmAre you on Windows or MacOS? What is the exact name of the root directory these files reside? (For my they were under Downloads directory of my MacOS user) Also, are you sure you are running the latest version of SM3 (v3.0.3) ?Olnium wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 5:19 pm I've been using the same drag and drop procedure but for me, the original version brings up the sample import dialog, scans to around 20%, then just stops. I've tried leaving it for over 15 minutes and it never completes. The converted files load instantly.
Please try this:
MacOS:
1. Delete /Users/Shared/SynthMaster3/SynthMasterSamplesFolders.txt
2. Delete /Users/Shared/SynthMaster3/SynthMasterSamples.wfdb
Windows:
1. Delete C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/SynthMasterSamplesFolders.txt
2. Delete C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/SynthMaster3/SynthMasterSamples.wfdb

I’ve loaded SFZs I created from the Moog I have and they work great. I have the samples in WAV format are on my secondary drive, but that shouldn’t make a difference, right?
Drag and drop works fine here with Windows 11.

That would be awesome - hopefully for FLAC as well.kv331 wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 8:45 amI haven't fully tested direct from disk feature yet, although I implemented it for wav/aif files. I'm thinking, in particular about large SFZ files-- 2+GB in size.....
The IVY piano loads fine now in the latest version of SM3, but mostly fills up the memory of my 16GB Laptop and takes a while to load (spinning disk external hard drive).
Not sure if it needs another oscillator or if it could be a switch in the editor?
In the larger picture: If SM3 can work as a semi-serious sample player a la Kontakt or Falcon, that would be a big deal for me personally, since I already got rid of Falcon and would love to fade out Kontakt too.
I don't need the full complexity of those two, but decently fast sample library loading (falcon sucks at that) and DFD with a bit of a buffer loaded for instant playback.
But all in good time, love where you are going with this!

Streaming from FLAC? We'll see about that. But an alternative workflow would be to use the "Save SFZ+samples" menu inside the Sample Editor. This way, you can save the samples as WAV files and then use the sample oscillator to stream the WAV samples.ThomasHelzle wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:33 pm

I see. Well, FLAC is half the size, so especially with bigger libraries it would be great to keep the FLACs and not duplicate both size and samples. But I don't know if it's possible to uncompress on the fly.kv331 wrote: Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:39 pmStreaming from FLAC? We'll see about that. It is going to cost CPU cycles, that's for sure. But, decoding a FLAC file works in chunks like 1024 samples, so I am hoping it will be possible.ThomasHelzle wrote: Mon Sep 23, 2024 5:03 pm But I don't know if it's possible to uncompress on the fly.
Another thing I am certain is that I will need to add a new oscillator type for streaming, like "DFD Oscillator". The basic oscillator is not suitable for streaming, it works with in memory samples. Also, features like osc unison complicates matters. The DFD oscillator won't have osc unison at all.
EDIT: I guess there is one major challenge with streaming FLAC: When I need to restart the playback ( = midi note on message received), I should be able to rewind the decoder to its initial state. Anyhow, will figure out

Hi guys
We have a new update for SynthMaster 3: Rev 15544. This update has critical bug fixes, so please check for updates inside SynthMaster 3:
1. FIX: SynthMaster 3 might crash after downloading expansion banks from synthmaster.com web site
2. FIX: SynthMaster 3 might crash when selecting single cycle waveforms inside wavetable editor
3. FIX: SynthMaster 3 might crash when a preset that's created after editing a SynthMaster One / 2 preset is loaded
By the way, I started looking into "Additive Synthesis", finally
Expect an Additive Oscillator added in version 3.1!

I was wondering if it might be possible to add in small text (following along with the mouse pointer) which key you're about to drop a sample on to. Sometimes I mistakenly drop it on the incorrect one since I don't line it up the right way, and I thought it might be a nice little feature to add.
Basically you drag the sample with the mouse, and you move from left to right, it would display whichever key you are about to drop it on right next to the mouse pointer...or something similar.
Also, maybe I am missing something... but is there a quick way to delete a sample once it's been placed on a certain note? I thought I could maybe right-click on it and get an option to delete it, but it's not there.
EDIT: I do know where it is in the menu after clicking the gear icon, but it would be nice to have a quicker way to remove a sample

Parse SFZ directly. Also, when saving, we save the multisample data as sfz text.audiojunkie wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 1:38 pm By the way, how does Synthmaster 3 SFZ usage work? Do you simply parse directly from the SFZ script, or do you import to an internal format?
