Has anyone tried this? Is it any good? Worth the money?

Holy moly... I am sorely tempted, but I have no place to put it and a MS-20M kit is arriving today... totally out of space but that is a great deal.

Saw the bargain post about Maschine 2.3. I've always wondered... can one use the software as a VST without the hardware? Love the functionality, but don't necessarily need another controller.

Yes you can, but its not as intuitive.

This is actually how I use it. I usually start a project in Maschine standalone, then open it as a plugin in Studio One when I'm ready to mix or track live parts. I love working this way.

totally. That's how I mostly use it. You can't buy it without buying hardware, though (the bargain is for upgrading v1 to v2... It really has it all (sequencer, sampler, sample organizer, drum synth, groove box, etc)...

Thanks for the info, guys! :)

I can't seem to find info anywhere which instruments are included as multi-sampled presets (not loops or phrases). I wonder if these are worth the price alone? (I'm not much into loops).

Fleer, did you by any chance buy it and try it out already?

Pekadan, didn't bite yet, would like some more info too.

if you go to UVI's website and look at the "World Traditions Presets List" on page 4 and below there is a list stating how many loops and how many instrument from each etnic group:
