:D

Oki, another teaser, but a very stupid one:

http://www.u-he.com/music/Zeb2Sings_more_or_less.mp3

Used the MultiStage envelopes to sweep a bit through additive vowel tables in the oscillator section... (and the others on filter, volume and tune)

Cheers,

;) Urs

you really need someone with a lot of time to devote to this all important work!
:hihi:

Shades of Zoyd! Singing synths! More or less! :hyper:

Oki. I might not have the time to post an update tomorrow. Hence I have a new mini song for you:

http://www.u-he.com/music/ZebDroneAndPad.mp3

It's all Zebra2, including the drums.

Who can guess the number of instances used? (Hint: It's less than you might think!)

Cheers,

;) Urs

I thought 6 so I'm going to guess four :)

Derek.

:-o

Four is correct! 8)

The drumkit is made out of 4 FM oscillators with different key zones ;)

The pad consists of 1 oscillator, 2 FM oscillators, 2 filters, and a noise generator that feeds a comb filter - all with heavy use of the MultiStage envelopes ;)

The drone is one osc, one comb and a multistage (for the pitch sweep after 8 quarters)

Cheers,

;) Urs

I really like the new colour scheme BTW

Are there going be be alternate colour skins in 2.0? - and if so, is this saveable - every time I call up Zebra 1.5 the first thing I have to do is change colour, which gets kinda boring after the 86,000 time ;)

(Now someone's going to say you can save the skin in 1.5...)

Hmmm, the colour scheme should save with song, yes...

Well, the new engine will allow me to create totally different views. I.e. one for editing needs, one for just preset stuff, performance & tweaking, one for owners of 30inch displays.

It's just a matter of time if/when new colour schemes will be implemented. I can of course not use the same stuff as in Z1.5, because that wouldn't work on Windows. But there's certainly gonna be something alike. Maybe you just get a couple of RGBA sliders to roll your own. And these will save with preset, not just song 8)

 this will only end in posts like: 'these presets sound great but the look terrible!' :hihi:

Yes, the colour scheme will save with a song, that wasn't what I meant.

When I instantiate Zebra it will always default to the default theme. It would be nice to set the "default" to any of the other schemes, to save having to change it manually each time I insert a Zebra in Logic. Maybe this can be done by hacking some files?

In any case, it's not the most vital thing in the world, just annoying...

I used Z2 in my new tune.... ;)

How does it look? ;)

Urs, hey that envelope looks great. I'm curious, at what rate do the envelopes run? We were jamming with a virus TI with jmh and one of the nice things about it's sound is the extremely musically snappy envelope (without being that clumsy "tock!" that so many VSTi's have). Is your's running at samplerate? Also, can we make the curve beziere, S-shape I mean.. or whatever it was called?

Cheers!
