UAD still worth it?

Unbelievable how they screwed everyone with these constant price drops.

I wonder if they're selling themselves and the purchase price is dependent on the number of users, say by the end of the year. Or they're selling and just trying to get as much money as possible before the sale goes through.

They don't seem to care about prior users, reputation, or future sales. They really dgaf.

Maybe a sale to Apple. If Apple does purchase, these plugins become Logic only and no longer supported as third party, like Alchemy.

I get this feeling I may have just wasted $240 buying Signature.

I think you’ve wasted $100.

I’ve wasted more than that. The only comfort is knowing older customers wasted so much more than what I did (or you did).

My concern would be if they decide to go subscription only. That would be the fu of the year.

They did come up with some offers for existing users who purchased the last bundles they had on sale. I don't think the pricing was as good as what's available today, but they did something.

Yeah, feels stupid to have wasted so much money in the last few months when you can buy the Signature Bundle for just $150 today, which is less than $5 per plugin.

I am yet to buy the Signature Bundle using the $150 coupon UA support gave me last week as well, but if I do, for the amount I have spent so far, the cost per plugin will turn out to be about $16, which is more than thrice what people are getting in just a matter of two months or so. Ridiculous!

The problem and frustration here is mainly because of the very short period of time in which the prices dropped to an unbelievable extent. Simply unfair to put it softly.

They've been planning this for a while. A few months ago I think the "bargain" bundle was $600 - which people all thought was an amazing deal. So they've been walking down prices, luring in buyers in anticipation of whatever is coming up.

I mean I get it's a business and the idea is to extract as much money from customers as possible. But a lot of customers had a sense of goodwill and trust towards the company - people really loved UAD - and to take advantage of that seems predatory.

I just don't see how they're fine with burning their customers unless an exit is very near.

I put it elsewhere like I have a feeling that I've bought a discounted Titanic ticket, buying yesterday. It just seems insane, did... the management all take crazy pills? Is pricing strategy being set exclusively at an ayahuasca retreat? UAD rep on Gearspace is deleting posts like mad after having linked the $150 crossgrade deal at AudioDeluxe, then said to cancel support tickets and just use that crossgrade deal... Those posts are gone, the deal itself is gone, users are increasingly in an uproar because everyone feels like they're getting screwed unless they bought yesterday (... it felt like a good time to get in, but at this rate, will we literally see Ultimate 12 for $99 at Christmas?), what the hell is happening at UAD

I don't really need more Effects. But if it went to 99 dollars, I'd consider it still.

My Arturia FX collection discounted price, in the current BF sale, is 129. And I consider the UAD plugins a step up in quality.

My only concern is longevity. And making my workflow even more convoluted by introducing yet another plugin company and suite into the mix. There is a such thing as too many plugins to the artist. Maybe not the collector. But definitely I find several high quality tools a lot more creative and manageable when I'm working. Plus, in a few years, I won't have 50 more plugins to source, install, and register when I upgrade or refresh my PC.

I'd be happy if they just put all of their plugins on a 10, 15, and 20 dollar each sale. Out of that giant grab bag, there are only a few that I'd want to actually use.

Those dealer offers were mistakenly put online this AM. Anyone that used them will either have it go through (if it was done early enough) or have the deal cancelled/refunded.

We are now working on an email to all eligible previous bundle owners (minus those that have already received the coupon and upgraded) with a direct offer.

We're talking about Creative/Mix/Diamond bundle purchasers. Essentials is not part of this, not is Ultimate or Complete.

They probably realized it was open to everyone (without a bundle to crossgrade) after the fact and are going to lock it down to bundle owners only?

Either way UA have really confusing sales to me.
