I'll try to integrate SkinMan/KnobMan closely to the GUI Builder tool that I wrote. They are the right tools for the beginners like me to create skins/knobs very easily!

Well, all right, mark your calendars:kv331 wrote:Regarding the user interface/skins, for the following 7 days I wont be adding anything new except fixing bugs...
9/27/2009, Synthmaster 2.0 finally achieves "beta" status.
(I'm assuming the "release in September" plan is officially non-operative?)

Note concerning the (very possible) bugs in "Save as" function (ie crash of the Host ) as experimented by Cyforce.
I thought it was something particular relative to my system, seeing that no one else did reported this one, wich seems a major bug.
Bulent I think you might want to test some little things with the "save as" function using the following settings :
1/* Change the SD name ( Mine by default was Lawrence, wich is actually the translation of my name in English, but my programmer's name beeing LotuZia, I had to change it each time )
2/ Write something in the website text area.
3/ Add something in bank name area. ( Btw Sometimes SM2 will NOT retain this data)
4/ Write something in the free comment text area. one or tow lines are enough.
5/ Change the subfolder in wich you wish to save the preset.
THEN .......
Use "save as" function. I had numerous crashes when using this sequence of events ( and lost many patches btw )
So eventually maybe you will be able to reproduct this one.
To avoid these crashes I found a turnaround : I returned on the edit pages of SM2, and tweak a parameter or two, before saving. It saves me a lot of crashes. But not always.
Cheers,
LtZ

Since we ended up adding new features in September, you're right, we're delayed for a month. Most of those requests came from our sound designers, so we had to add those not to have a "half-done" product.deraudrl wrote: 9/27/2009, Synthmaster 2.0 finally achieves "beta" status.

There are still 2 areas that I'd like to address when I have time this week:
1. Changing the reverb eary reflection calculations algorithm slightly so reverb becomes more "traditional"
2. Adding snap to grid functioality to the multi stage envelope generators.
Of course, I'll be redesigning the GUI as well, I'm estimating 1 week for that.
Then I can make an official public "beta" announcement everywhere, so far I havent done that except my announcements here at KVR Audio.
BTW, the synth is ready for music production, we already have a demo song made by Scot Solida:

so i hope ne next beta build we be focused on stability, features are atm on an optimal balance, no more features needed i think. now it's imortant to get the stability - for the final version and users, and also for the sounddesigneers ^^

OK, finally got a crash when save as was pressed. Will debug NOW!
EDIT: Fixed the "Save as" crasher. It was caused when you enter a bank name for your preset.
An update coming tonight, which includes this one and also the Echo fix.

Anyhow, this week the priority is to get the UI rebuilt with SkinMan/KnobMan, and nail down any crashers/stopstoppers for us.
BTW: In build 22, I fixed another stowstopper which was not reported before: When switching presets, sometimes the output goes to zero and stays there.
