What setting is best, and is there a restore to factory defaults? I don't wanna mess up the guitar as soon as i get it. I'm still waiting btw, they told me i would get it last week but i didn't so I'm hoping this week.

I do think it's odd as well, but time will tell. At least we know the midi port is there.. could be they don't have full implementation yet, and didn't want to jump the gun in the official PR on features that are not yet ready..

It doesn't mess up the guitar. It's a non destructive app.

Global Settings>Volume=127

String Sensitivity=1

It coud be....
They want to limit the message. Lets face it. We knew everything III wanted to tell us way back when. And all they did is beat every feature into everything they had. Too much message all the time.

Or.....
They don't want to tarnish fender's reputation with the dirty "M" word. A lot of guitarists believe midi is the great evil. Thier loss not ours

I thought i downloaded the control panel annode linked on page 44, but i guess i didn't, now the links are down, can someone host them? I only downloaded YRG_QT_Librarian_Win.zip, and YRG_Restore_Win.zip . Actually im getting a 403 and 404 error, first one permission denied, other 2, cannot be found. a zip of all the files you linked, if you could put them on mediafire that would be nice annode, thanks.

It wouldn't surprise me if Inspired has yanked the downloadable files for now. On another forum, they said it was a mistake that the files were available.

They asked for 24 hours to make a more stable version available.

Check the yahoo midiguitar group, since they posted there about the mistake, they may post there when the software is really available.

Post

i think they have had enough of serious midi guitarists going after them. Pulling the app permanetly wouldn't be in the best interest of the company.

they probably underestimated the demand for this use of the product.

Well, now I can't find where I got that idea - I can't find the reference to 24 hours any more....must've dreamed it up on my own.

At any rate, they ask us to wait for a more stable version. Using the current one is 'at your own risk'.

EDIT: Decided to remove them with the thinking They are not mine to share.

Get all the YRG dload files here;

Doubtful.
They have heard from us left and right. The beta testers weren't good beta testers. If they were they would have beaten the company up over stuff like this. Inspired Instruments works as a top down organization. That type of approach fails as soon as you add software and user base into the mix. They are learning hard lessons about balancing acts between consumer needs and expectations.

In most software companies putting out an Alpha is considered treason. A bad build can damage more then one can imagine including permantently tarnish company reputation not to mention quite a few other things like your computer and the controller (YRG) III prolly balanced us screamingn like banshies vs putting an untested product on the market. If it doesn't work,,, then they have more screaming directed at them. Sensitify Problems + failed software. They are still learing the hard knocks of this business. Because regardless of prior biz experience this is a whole new ball game. If they are smart and learn things along the way they'll have a better biz and we'll have a better product because of it.

Where exactly DID Inspired post those tool links anyway?
I'm not sure they did intend them to be public. I got the links from Elantrics kvr post.

They are not a "net" company. The links were on the website. If they wanted to do some internal testing on the alpha it would have been more secure not to upload the files at all.
I'm sure a well intentioned employee put it on the web hoping to address the issue as quickly as possible. They are not unsympathetic to us. Upon review they most likely decided it would be better to wait for a more stable version that they could release as a beta.

I got to tell you Mike, I feel that what you say is nothing more then your own speculation. If you don't know, why post anything...just to see yourself in print?
Did you actually SEE where Inspired posted links to the tools? And where was that then?
