I think that's a very cavalier attitude toward customers. He nominated a timescale, blew it away, and should have the common courtesy to say something meaningful as to a new date.
Feeling entitled yet?

We're witnessing the drawbacks of being very communicative with the user base. Urs listens to feedback, is here to give support, gives us frequent updates, lets us partake (and sometimes participate) in development, and then he gets fed shit like this post. Great job. :tu:
+1

there’s nothing to complain IMO, he’s behavior with users is humble as possible and to my taste, over any reproach

our patience will be rewarded, ...as usual !

I knew the mindless fanbois would yapping at the bell  Perhaps you missed the core point: He isn't being communicative.

Turns out, during the past few weeks a lot of little fixes and changes have led to sound changes. Comparing the revision that was referenced to the hardware with current ones shows some sonic differences we can't explain yet. So we have to do a whole set of comparisons with the hardware again, and find all those little under-the-hood screws that need to be adjusted to sound authentic.

We're talking subtle stuff, but when a check reveals that suddenly envelope times are off, we're simply alarmed and not sure as to how long it takes. The good thing is, since this week we have the same automated tests for Repro-5 which we have for all our other plug-ins. So it won't happen again.

So, you are bitching first about him communicating and then whining that he isn't being communicative.

What a pathetic life you must lead when you get this upset about a piece of software not being given to you quickly enough.

Actually he was quite hesitant to set a date in the sonicstate video from my memory. 8)

Urs has explained the delay and it is going to be worth the wait. What I decided to do was pick up 3 other u-he synths to keep me busy...and they are all phenomenal. I'm so involved daily with those I won't even be ready for Repro 5 when it does hit. Lots to learn in the interim and safe in the knowledge that Urs is not going to just target a date.

This happens every time a developer hints or shows an upcoming product... Apple - as much as I can’t stand the direction they’ve taken with thier “pro” line of products - does it right. They don’t hint at crap until it’s a few weeks away. Period...

It's only 1 or 2 people who are a bit grumpy. Maybe they are having a bad day. Or maybe...they are wannabe plugin developers / competitors having a bad day. :x

Urs really must have Buddha nature the way he takes negativity in stride. It's inspiring really.

Some people simply have ADD and nothing to do. Instead of using everything they already have, they think something new will help them make that new $1mil ["original"] hit... :hihi: The cycle is infinite.

How about the mindless self-centered twits like you who feel the world owes them for their mere existence?

Urs is one of the most communicative developers I have ever seen. He is constantly active on these forums, telling us exactly what he and his team are working on, and explaining why the product is taking longer. He spills the beans on nearly everything coming down the pipe, almost to a fault.

He is so communicative, in fact, that not a few people have expressed a desire that he pay less attention to the forums, and more time developing. (Being a developer myself, I do not agree with that sentiment because I understand how development works.)
