Brian makes the right choice I think. An alternative is the right click solution, but hold ctrl or shift is the worst for my workflow. Everytime the ctrl or shift is implemented, I need to use a sustain pedal, not ideal...

Yes, with VAT it was €99.

Anyway, here is a quick test with 2 of the presets. Amazing possibilities!

Can anybody who has purchased Plasmonic tell if there are more presets than in the Demo? I find there are few presets available. At least in the demo.

I hate that in synths - it’s a programmer’s approach not a musician’s. You already have to take a hand off the keys to use the mouse or controller, having to press a keyboard modifier as well means you have no hands to play while adjusting params, which makes it really hard to hear how the the changes affect the sound as you play, especially if doing this live.

That is a very good point. I am definitely a program it first, play it second sort of person. I will also set up some sort of simple MIDI input loop into a synth and adjust parameters as it repeats, even for longer pads.

Just a quick question...what does this add to my palate? There is not much I do not have, including dozens of Kontakt libaries. Does this thing offer something that nothing else has? I know that is a bit ambiguous and I am sorry but I cannot think how to word it differently.

Hard to respond, idk all your arsenal!
But physical modeling feels in a lot of case more"alive" compare to samples.

Even if many will not like to hear this: I think Plasmonic has potential, but the presets hardly reflect this, with the exception of the presets of Yuli Yolo (first class).
I find the graphical interface exhausting to read and the slider controls unsatisfactory. This takes away the joy of making sounds myself, which is a pity. Especially for a software that invites making fresh sounds, the layout of the graphical user interface should be professionally designed. It is not. And by that I explicitly don't mean a boring and old fashioned copy of an analog synthesizer. Why not take use of JUCE? A chance was definitely missed here, unfortunately.

PS: I am a passionate Absynth user.

Plasmonic is really great and would be maybe my second choice after Sculpture for those organic but out of this world timbres. It also runs fine on my M1 machine but Sculpture remains still king for me, especially when it comes to morph sounds/timbres. I am also not sure if it gets more optimised (if possible), since it use a good amount of CPU so i think i pass for now. The GUI is a mixed bag a bit. But I think this has lots of potential and its a fresh instrument compared to the 100´s version of another analog emulation.
