My sound card is an Audigy 2 Platinum Ex with the breakout box. I know now that it is not what many of you consider to be a "professional" sound card. Until recently I thought that creative labs was the only choice for a sound card on the PC. For the drivers I am using the alternative Kx drivers instead of the default ones from creative labs.
I connect my guitar to the "Line In 1/Mic" input on my breakout box. I set the input volume knob to almost the maximum ( at maximum levels I get heavy clipping ). The sound is pretty bad though. Like I said before, It sounds lifeless and thin
So then I decided to plug my guitar into a mono insert ( it sais in the manual I can plug in a guitar ) Yamaha table mixer instead and use the setero output from the mixer as stereo Line 3 input ( RCA ) on the breakout box. Still the same sound, maybe a bit better, but not by much. FAR AWAY from Sacha's sound.
