Well that was a dumd idea, bullsharkbullshark wrote:Have a look at Sony's Acid 6, it does have a lot of niffty thing for scoring, things like video track, markers import, both SMPTE and Bars/beat display, project sections, superb surround mixing implementation etc.
A few weeks ago I ditched the demo because it was incredibly unstable on my machine, but this 6.0a update seem to have fixed most of it so I myself just started demoing the thing toroughly. It's also quite cheap compared to, say, Nuendo or Sonar producer. And, not to overlook the no-dongle AND liberal Sony EULA and transfer policy.
What sequencer do you use to score video with (and why?)

Having the tools and mastering all the intricacies of using them is two different thing.RTaylor wrote:Why not? You've got digital.

I'm not sure if you're talking the image or the soundtrack here. I think it's possible to do better if you can manage to adopt a slightly different set of sensibilities than is popular in Hollywood these days. I think a lot of those sensibilities... ideas of what's "good" and what isn't are something that keep the whole thing exclusive. You've got to forgoe the tons of cg, 3d, etc stuff... things that require huge outlays of time, energy and money and go with something a lot more simple and direct.bullshark wrote:Having the tools and mastering all the intricacies of using them is two different thing.RTaylor wrote:Why not? Yeah, the learning curve on a lot of it is pretty high and it does take a lot of time.
