I don't know if anyone has mentioned it already, but I think that a standalone would be really nice. :)

Once again thank you so much for freeamp! I just played with it again - and it's so much fun I could cry. :D

Post

you can create your own standalone alex. download savihost i think it is, and read the documentation on it. i believe you rename the savihost.exe to freeamp2.exe, and then copy both it and the freeamp2.dll (and in freeamp2's case the CHM file) to the same dir, and it will run freeamp2 for ya.

Really didn't know that - this is fantastic! Thanks a lot, grymmjack!

:) I think I worked that out for you ?? (been playing with a triple rectifier) Kind of got stalled on the overdrive pedal here for a while  The new overdrive contains thirty different drive types, Just finished putting them all in order from light drive to  some pretty high gain. Pretty cool how the tone changes between the different types, with no added filtering.
8) Which means the new amp will most likely contain, Oh! about forty or fifty different amps? should be some big fun?

I'd like it to have soem of the tone that Helian bass does. Maybe that's no what Freeamp is for but Helian 2nd Bass has a killer sound. Get that easily with all the extra stuff in Freeamp and freeampoweee! (Sorry, couldn't resist it). :)

@guitar junkie - Wish I had what it takes to do a mac and a linux version, will see what the future can teach me

@Vonbrucken - Nah! the big boys do that already in there advertizing, already been done, besides would not be too cool when my 10 and 12 year old daughters walk in the room. :hihi:

Im getting confused about the routing sometimes (ok, everytime :help:). Some graphical help would make that easier. A little cord to see the signalpath or something.
Excellent software. My old DigiTech is gathering dust.

you model an amp with a configuratin of: 6SL7 preamp tube, 6550 poweramp tube and a solid state rectifier tube, you should be able to make a nice little bass amp model. i'm buying a custom built, hand wired 7watt amp from www.electrosonicamplifiers.com and i'm ever so excited. my configuration will include a ceramic speaker instead of alnico. i don't want any early breakups or speaker breakup. put a clean boost n front of that puppy and watch her hum along!

can you model something like that?

oh.. by the way! i'm only paying $700 for this one of a kind treasure! <splat!> OH YEAH!!!

freeamp is cool. and since you don't have a label on there saying free "guitar" amp, then you should consider doing a whole section with some good bass amps (4x10, 2x10, 1x15, 1x15 w horn etc). It'd be nice to have something complementary to use on the same scale as freeamp for the bass guitar stuff. i've used freeamp a couple times on cds that have seen decent regional sales. i like to use it to layer amp sounds. i've used it coupled with boogex before to get some pretty thick sounding guitar tones! it's nice. thanks alot.

perhaps some type of graphic eq emulation, kind of like the 70s-80s mesa boogie type stuff or even one band of paragraphic, just in the primary "guitar" area of the freq spec. do a model of a guitar amp using a 15 inch speaker. i like the tight bass of a 15" on a guitar amp through an AKG C414. try doing some stacked sounds, or the ability to stack sounds and seperate them (left and right) or something. i'm just throwing ideas in here.

model a neve preamp for the front end of an old vox poweramp/speaker combo. do a nice opto compressor section for the bass amp side. uh... add a way for us to bias the tubes on each tube amp model. broken speaker mode. t-wah.

go study the waves gtr package. they did a decent job. amplitube did good with the bass presets. boogex has a neat thing going for them... steal some ideas and go with it. its all modeling anyway aint it?

have fun!
