Hello World :-)

Well I have to say that starting the thread "FreeAmpSE v1.5 What do you want?) Turned FreeAmp2 into a much better amp "plugin" then I would have ever done alone! Had it not been for all the wonderful idea's many offered (Grymmjacks's UI, and asseca's help were of notable help). So in the spirit of that thread I ask again "FreeAmp3 What do you want?"

I'm now staring at FreeAmp2 with all the amps, Eq's and speakers removed :-( but its a good thing :-) Below is a list of changes that will be done.

1. All new amps, Taking the time to analyze real amps for a source tone.

2. All new Eq's, Again looking to the real thing for a source tone.

3. All new speakers, Again looking to real cabinets for the source tone (Open-Closed back included).

4. A good look\listen to all current FX's

5. Guitsyn will have at least seven different filters to choose from, all can be mixed and matched in a parallel or serial configuration.

6. Two EG's for Guitsyn, both normal and inverted functions.

7. A noise oscillator for Guitsyn, Will operate as a fixed pitch for polyphonic playing and will track pitch when monophonic is all you need (will also track velocity for mono or poly tracking).

8. True speaker bypass.

So what did I miss? What in FreeAmp2 did you like or not like? Please give an honest but real comment! saying its all crap don't help much as I already know there are some wonderful tones to be had in FreeAmp2. Please describe what was wrong what was right, what are you looking\yearning for as a guitar tone?

Peace
Fretted Synth

:hihi: What the heck should it be called? Something better then FreeAmp :hihi:

freeamp is a good name - it should kick the payware amps butt..let those greedy bastards wet themselfs

If you intend to keep giving it away and you don't already have a way set up to take donations- get one.

Freeamp 2 is a tremendous gift to people who can't or won't buy a commercial sim. If I'm being honest though, I'd say that the tones remind me of a multi-fx (like a digitech Legend or something) more than they conjure up the sound of a real amp- even one I've never heard before. I can't really put my finger on the reason why.

There are some great sounds in there- some of the effects are quite lush sounding- but I've not really been able to use Freeamp2 on any tracks so far.

I keep trying though. The fantastic LOOK of the product doesn't hurt it at all. :)

Do please keep up your efforts though. I don't think I'm alone when I say that I'm extremely excited about your progress. :)

wow. go hardcore :) the new amps/eq/speakers = killer. when you say true speaker bypass, will this mean we can use just the pedals with say boogex, or something?

the chorus and reverb effects need some work i think. it'd be great to have different mic models too, like guitarport, where you can choose dynamic or condensers :) you already have the position of the mic, some new mic models would be hot.

it'd be hip if freeamp could produce feedback too. i think guitsyn is cool but it's not as easy to use as phazosc for example, which i find to be superb. do you have any plans to add any different oscillator types? it could be neat to have the phazosc waveforms as oscs/generators.

:hihi: Don't think your getting away too easy on this one Bubb! The UI will need a new look (have to get together again for this) :hihi: If not a change in placement, at least some color changes and most likely some big changes in Guitsyn :hihi:
Yep! the chorus and verb will be looked into, and yeh! The addition of an oscillator is very easy! all the tools neeeded will be added for the noise osc anyhow.

@chrishurley - :hihi: Can't put my finger on it either? but something in FreeAmp makes me feel like I'm playing a real amp?
The nice thing is! I have it as an example to learn and progress from. So it will get better from here, and if you figure out what it is? Please let me know too :hihi:

@ Grymmjack - Oh! BTW you will also get the Eq bypass you asked for in version 2! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can :hihi: Aw heck, I know I can :)

shit, i'm caught in the net :)

ok, np. we can meet up again at the bar and have some drinks and food and discuss FA3 sometime. let me catch up with the other projects i'm doing, and do lots of R&D on your own :)

definitely great news about the EQ bypass :)

What do you mean by open the sound up? Do you mean in terms of open up the frequency response? or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks

you can check out the number of comparisons and criticisms in previous threads :D When this thing goes highgain, its muffled and boxy sounding, for the most part.

again, otherwise, it already has great response and low end.

What about turning FreeAmp into a bit of a Slayer, and add a Guitar model soft synth.

Thank you very much for FreeAmp.

Hi

Think your list of changes are on the money. As others have said, maybe add in a guitar tuner and add some bass amp/speaker models to give the final touch.

Thx for all your hard work

feedback/sustain: something like this.
harmonizing: a pitchshifter
a bit of adrenalinn: a step sequencer with preset patterns that can be routed to most settings like volume or pedals parameters.

I just wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for a great, great plugin. Freeamp 2 is a blast, I love not having to set up my whole rig just to throw an idea at a track.
I second the motion for either a pitch shifter or an octave pedal.
Other than that.. maybe do a stage tuner? For convenience sake? But that's just to show off at this point.
Again, thanks for Freeamp! It rocks!
