So, what are you implying exactly? That is part of SE's default module library. If you know a way to remove that from the dll, please let me know.

There's an easy way to test if Sylenth1 uses SE oscillators btw, just play a really really low pitched saw wave for example. SE oscs degrade heavily in quality at frequencies between about 0 and 50Hz. Then compare it to Sylenth's oscillators. And did you ever see a SE oscillator with a half-triangle, half-block wave, like the one in Sylenth1?

Similar tests can also easily be used to compare other parts of the audio path. I do find it weird however, that you don't seem to hear the difference, which is quite obvious if you ask me. But like I said before, if you can not hear it and you don't notice the difference in CPU usage, this synth is not for you.

I agree, the filters are incredible! I would totally buy a filter VST based on Sylenth1.

How did you change the .sep/sem files to .dat?

All that C++ synth programming and no gui talent? You choose to use SE instead? I'm saying you are very clever but I won't be buying your synth.

On futher inspection of the ".dat" files it looks like some of the custom programming was done by EVM. Anybody see any credits anywhere?

EDITED: To be accurate.

A smart programmer uses existing toolkits for pedestrian tasks and saves the assembler for time-critical loops.

Disguising somebody elses' code as your own is a good shortcut too.

I'm sure it's a very nice product. I apoligize for any comments on my part that may have caused the developer of this fine product any anguish or discomfort. 8)

then this synth simply is not for you.
You got that right!! Whether or not I can hear a
difference between this synth and SWP8 is totally irrelevant.
The bottom line is that there are decidely better synths
available for less money. Sorry but I won't pay a Ferrari
price tag to drive an Infiniti. :P

Why the sudden 360 Tom? Or did the sacasm sail over my head?

Well, look at it this way. Let's assume that Lennard is sincere about everything. That he IS an advanced DSP developer, who has invested a large amount of his time to write a synth with filters that easily beat the most expensive VSTi's out there with amazing clarity and warmth, unheard in a soft synth before. That he DID create advanced algorithm's to keep his filters stable, where others start to heavily degrade. And that he succesfully optimized his routines, to be even faster than the fastest VSTi's out there. Imagine all this is true. He then releases his work to the public and all he gets are a few n00b's with a hex editor claiming that he used SE  That's quite hilarious to me :) Let's just hope Lennard proofs himself wrong ;)

the real question is

would you spend $200 on a synth called

LennarDigital Sylenth1

So Sylenth1 is the Ferrari, eh precious?
Bottom line is, if you can not even hear the difference between Superwave and Sylenth1 (even if you're testing them side by side), let alone notice the difference in CPU usage, then this synth simply is not for you.
I see-sounds like the old 'Emperor's New Clothes story': it's their fault if anyone doesn't agree with you and can't see the so called superior qualities of your synth. Reality check-your synth is average at best and not at all unique.

Reality check: In addition to the synths that others have mentioned for around $200 or less, I would prefer:

Albino 3: $199 USD http://www.linplug.com

Rob Papen Blue: $199 USD http://www.robpapen.com

Helga: $136 USD http://www.kiesel.is/

Surge: $150 USD (approx.) http://www.vemberaudio.se

Imposcar: $99 USD http://www.gforcesoftware.com/ViewCateg ... nstruments

To name but five more better sounding, better featured synths.

Did you duck?. :hihi: I still think it's suspicious and the price is way out of line but I'm chillin' for now. I can understand the desire to hide the SE side of things (I'm not going there but you know what I'm talking about) but going to that much trouble to hide modules makes it look like somethings not right. I could be way off base either way.

discodsp discovery, 80 euros is certainly a challenger too

----It's a bummer that S.E. still gets such a bad rap, but it is just a fact of the game. I personally don't care either way, not looking for another VA synth, and don't have the $ regardless, but I hope the creator wasn't lying about using S.E. to make the synth, and I hope he can prove it soon if he in fact didn't. I almost always root for the underdog, and you've all about dogged this guy half to death, so I'm kinda hoping he shows some proof and shuts down the haters, that would make for an amusing ending at least. *shrug*
----I guess the asking price does seem a bit high, but like has been said, for a premiere quality VA synth, well, the market has asked for that much before, and it's not like inflation ever really goes away for long, despite any market over-saturation. If it turns out to be a S.E. plug, well, we all know he isn't going to sell but 2 or 3 tops, and if he knows of S.E.'s reputation, well, I wonder why he would even use S.E. to skin it or whatever. Who knows, if he wants to show some proof, then there it is, and if not, well, buy something else I guess, but can we at least try to chill out on the witch hunt ? A little ? Maybe ?
