So far 3 (Andrew, me, Sascha) like it and 3 (Mutant, lordnielson, Niksounds) don't. 50-50 then

I found a problem with GUI-less plugs, besides looks. Automation when done with MIDI controllers doesn't show the parameters movingo on the GUI, at least with GS on my rig.

Could people state why they don't like it instead of the moronic '+1', people may learn a bit more or even have the opportunity to provide a counter-argument and audio samples for evidence.

It sounded "not real" to me. Other ampsims have impressed me more

quick impression, sounds pretty dang good for leads and little muddy/loose for gainful chords and chugs. does not threaten king revalver in any way.
All this disagreement(not just this thread) proves to me is that sims have atained a level of quality whereby the only criticism is that afforded by peoples differing tastes...just like real hardware where you can find fenderphiles, boogiebutts and marshallballs are locked in battle while dumblefoots smoothly snicker all superiorallylike.

I think for a "free demo teaser" (well almost free) it's excellent.
Remember it's just 1 channel of 1 pre amp with a set cab and mic.
I am sure in the commercial version they will have all 3 channels and all the other options and it will probably be very good.
I own almost every commercial ampsim plug out there yet I find my self using the free, 5 year old, Simulanalog plugs quite often.
But let's wait for the full commercial version and then we will judge.
The fact that this new sim takes stereo input shows they will have some stereo pedals that you can set up in stereo configuration.
Should be interesting.

the magazine versions (KEYS or Keyboards - can't remember) of Samplitude SE and Lounge Lizard had an explicit license granting the installation on one single machine - everything which doesn't have such a license can be installed by anyone who's got the CD of the magazine in his hands.

no problem
For me imho
Results a muddy tone.
This is not a simply aspect for eq, it's in structure of this sound.
For me e for my conception of guitar sound.
I can find it usable in a solo, but for my ears, is a little bit sterile
imho.
(and IF the plug sounds as the samples posted, i don't know the settings)
Ciao Nik.

you're right about the mids Nik. In my sample (I don't remember the exact settings) I had them lowered, something like 4/10 and treble was heavily boosted. Seems like the cab sim cuts too much highs. It's the opposite with JCM where I find that there are too much highs. I still, find the sound useful and amp like. I think that if the cab sim could be disabled it would be much more flexible with some convolution plug-in and a few good IRs.

Hm, not sure about that point, but you might be right.the magazine versions (KEYS or Keyboards - can't remember) of Samplitude SE and Lounge Lizard had an explicit license granting the installation on one single machine - everything which doesn't have such a license can be installed by anyone who's got the CD of the magazine in his hands.
Sorry for the german, but well...Man kann's echt auch übertreiben - aber vielleicht hast Du ja tatsächlich nur gescherzt...
And fwiw, I was just explaining to Jens why I *need* to play it absolutely safe on my machine(s), without even the slightest exception.

Yep, in fact the aspect of cabs sim is fundamental.zeoy wrote:you're right about the mids Nik. Also, i hope and think that the next plug of Overloud will be really interesting.
Thomas Serafini has made a spectacular job with guitarsuite for the time/years of relase.

What I like the best about it is exactly that. How it responds to my playing and my volume pot.
Another plus is the way it gets out of the distortion phase as the chords fade out (check the last chord in my sample). No strange artifacts as it gets from distorted to clean.
Still those mids are a bit too much though.
