No need for that, but just to make sure I just downloaded it again with the same result :?

I'm downloading this file from my server to inspect, and I'll upload an alternative 196kpbs or higher file as well.

256kbps CBR is uploading now. Double the file size, but if this doesn't sound good, then I have no business making tracks anymore..Same original link, but please wait 15 minutes before downloading again. All transients seemed to be intact aside from one particular spot where I hardlimited and compressed to pieces about 1/3 of the way in. File is also normailized to 0db.

Now, if I made an error in how I did that, I'd really like someone to let me know, as I have no intention of making someone wait under a long download for an improperly rendered audio file..

using the vbr encoding of AA will return some strange readings in various media players ...
inspection of the file reveals 32 bit / 44.1 HZ despite what WMP and Winamp show while playing ...

i never use the vbr encoding , in AA ...
for mp3 , it's 320kbps , fixed rate , damn the file size ...

What was that app that had the better LAME encoder..Excalibur, or some such? I keep learning this lesson over and over..

New 256kpbs file is ready for your consideration.

Buh-Bye, VBR crap..

I still have no clue what the heck had happened but this sounds as it should, and such a difference it makes too.

forget about the energetic dynamics remark; it's here!

Sorry about the confusion possibly created

Finally a chance to listen.

great work, of course. your mixing is really nice and the tones seemed to fit well.
this seemed the most narrative of the series, and I want to listen to them all in order now, as a set. Some of your pieces - the cathartic ones(?)- are a sustained primal note, singular in purpose and expression, but this has a direction to it I quite like, cinematic* and leading without being obvious.

thanks for offering this 8)

Cheers. I enjoy other's interpretations quite a bit.

Well, despite the xoxos source material, the id3 tag on my copy says it was actually dedicated to dystonia_ek.

Oh yeah..there was that 'proof of concept' thing that he inadvertantly got under my nails with, eh?

:hihi:

God I'm such a burnout. Act I had many fathers, all equal.

You mean this?

Nope; t'was one of those nasty, sprawling, psuedo-intellectual thread monsters KVR's so famous for. James cut to the chase and basically p0wned everyone, me included(probably without intending to, of course).

:hihi:

It was the thread here that birthed the 'Achemaic Digitalis' section over at the Auditorium.

That was one of Rick's doings, if I recall. I kind of miss those punch-ups. There's these two (which are so similar they could be one):

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=113861

But I don't think either birthed that forum. I'll have to go a-hunting.

Actually, I recant. It was in the first link that the alchemaic forum was born. Now to find the quote.
