Opto is affecting the release and can be seen as a "release3" knob.
Dry/wet is more close to the ratio function so they would make a nice couple
regarding how hard you want to affect the processed signal.

You see, most blokes, when they're compressing they got one or two releases. You've got your releases, all the way up, all the way up, you've got the attack maxed out...where can you go from there? Where? Nowhere. What the 2094 does is, if I need that extra push over the cliff, you know what I do? I dial in that third release.
