i'm going to be learning C++ and working with these SDKs trying to understand myself. i think the only thing to do is to roll up your sleeves and get dirty. you're a literate person there are thousands of books on how to learn c++, tons of compilers, really all that stands between you and what you are asking is brave first step and a few yearssoma wrote:Anyone fancy turing this opporunity into class room like tutorial on making VSTs??
Only seems fitting since they were the start of the revolution.

I think this is a brilliant idea! There must be plenty of VST devs that hang around here who might like to show off their skills. Is there any KVR moderators around that could offer an opinion on this idea?tetsuneko wrote:I'd like to see a mda-mashup compo on KVR some day!! With rules beign something like "devise a new vst/vsti by combining dsp elements from MDA plugins (source code can be downloaded from sourceforge)" Any chance of this happening?

anyone made any headway on fixing the detune plug?
its a little gem and madly seems to be the only vst that does what it does.
the bug is a pain tho!

what is the bug? I was thinking of also fixing the ring mod because it is so useful. The problem with the ring mod is if you bring the rate all the way down to zero, it keeps modulating, so if it is in a phase of low amplitude, it sounds quiet, or negative, the phase is inverted. I think it should just reset at 0, perhaps with at a certain rate.
Do not lick the fablanky

all parameter knobs don't work properly. i.e. have to be adjusted, then have the plug turned off/on to work.
i think this is a fairly consistent problem, i've read a lot about it.

It's fixed in the binaries at sourceforge, however I managed to introduce a bug (by coincidence into the same plugin, which fortunately isn't noticable in the current uploaded plugins, but it's there nonetheless). Thus you may want to wait a couple of days, as my current code has this and a second issue fixed (as well as an update to the newly added mdaEnvelope code) and I'm going to upload it in the next few days. There will also be newly compiled 32-bit binaries (the 64-bit ones have to wait, as I currently don't have a 64-bit system setup here).jack_yggdrasil wrote:anyone made any headway on fixing the detune plug?

The source code is updated now (and commited to SVN as well). The new 32-bit binaries are available too (Windows, Linux and OSX).
