yup.. tried this today and yes.. live will not allow plug ins to run in rewire mode..

is there a way to get around this?

Yes it would work in NI Kore 2.
We are currently working on an own solution, the next update will make it
possible to trigger plugins or external gear with Consequence in Logic.
When the update will come cannot be said at the moment but it will be pretty soon and it will be a monster update ;)

Is it possible to route the MIDI OUT of Consequence to another VST Instrument in FL Studio?

Post

Consequence has really grown on me, awesome programming capability's to say the least. I would just like to add a request for future updates if you could at least get midi out for audio unit users, that way I could mix and match my own sounds with the midi. And I wouldn't mind some expansion library packs of some sort. Keep up the good work!

+1 Another [consequence owner] Live [8] user here!
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Hi, I was wandering would it be possible to introduce drag and drop of midi file with chord progressions into Consequence?
Thank you

hi
can someone clarify the situation with midi out on this unit.

unfortunately my demo time has expired, i got it when it first came out, had a play, but wanted to trigger external vsti synths with it rather than use internal sounds.....so i cant try the latest version.

using cubase sl3 pc.

is it as simple as creating 5 midi tracks?

1 in from keyboard , out to consequence
2 in from consequence, out to (synth1 e.g.) midi channel 1
3 in from consequence, out to (synth2 e.g.) midi channel 2
4 in from consequence, out to (synth3 e.g.) midi channel 3
5 in from consequence, out to (synth4 e.g.) midi channel 4

was sure the original unit on release did not support midi out, but read now (and have been told to rtfm :) ) in other threads that conseq now does midi out....!!!!

have rtfm btw :) !!!!!
cheers

Hi Dixie,
They do have midi out working...HOWEVER...

The unit sends ALL channels to one track. And it sends more notes than what you asked for. For example, if I set it up to play just chords, or if I set it up to play just an arp, I get everything recorded onto the track. I cannot figure out how to get just what I need....chords OR arp.

You can create multiple tracks and make the assigmnents but you get the same on all tracks.

This is keeping me from plunking down the $'s so I hope they get it fixed soon. Probably not before my demo runs out which means I'll be in the same boat as you and, I am sure, many others. Maybe we can write them after an update for an extension. Just way too much money for "Hope it works the way I need it to".

Otherwise this is a really good tool.

Enjoy!

hey dsan,
thanks for reply
so no way to trigger an external vsti in real time on just arps or just chords....or just the sequencer section.

...so if im right, and i send midi out to a vsti i get a "mixdown" of all four "modules" (consequence instruments) playing on the same midi track !!

i read there is an update coming out....
perhaps sugar-bytes can clarify if this will be changed (fixed) :) to send midi data on different channels enabling 4 external vstis playing in real time
thanks again dsan :)
cheers

Separate MIDI outs would be sweet. MIDI triggering 4 Guru engines with Consequence

Post

dixie,
You can route to trigger other vst's. When playing back using the provided instruments the unit works great and, it appears, like it is supposed to. But not sure what you will get in a live situation if you port to other vst's. As far as I can tell the unit dumps everything to one midi out.

When recording a track though the problem is you get every part, and all notes to that part, an individual instrument can create; that is, Arp PLUS Chord PLUS All end up in the track. So you have way more data than you wanted and sounds horrible (of course). I suppose you can take the time to clean up the track and delete notes you don't want but what the hey!!

I'm hopeful they get the midi out to funtion correctly so that it sends to multiple channels and only the desired interpretation of the selected instrument.

Anxiously awaiting the update Sugar Bytes team

Until then,
Enjoy!
