Well the latest version is always at the top in the files version, but yes I'll change the title with each change, good idea.
They are only small changes in each one, people are testing at different rates and so I guess the best bet is when you are planning some testing, just grab the latest from the files page.
I'll maybe get more organized with it in the new year, at the moment I'm just working a few hours each day, and probably won't get much more done now after today.
I was thinking once it stabilizes a bit more, we can have a dedicated post for each of the issues as opposed to one long thread.
I'm going to try and get the framework of the Kit code done today, that is the only big feature left to do.

Could you send out emails when a new beta is ready or edit the thread title to include the beta version so that we'll know where we are?

Nope!Astralp wrote:Oh and with velocity, it is probably the compressor that is making it feel there is a lack of response, try switching it off.
I switched off the compressor and velocity does not do anything volume wise to the notes (maybe it was planned that way) it just mekes a note on/off difference but no difference is noticeable in between.
Right. Now it only lags a bit when stopping the host.Astralp wrote:I'm sure that switching off the 'reset on start' setting will solve this problem in FL. You have to either restart FL after changing the setting or do it before it is loaded.
On another note. It would be helpful to have a message show up when moving the sliders in the mixer. In FL they show up in the transport window, but I see nothing showing up anywhere in Reaper. It could be maybe I am missing something somewhere.
Just bear with me. It is my last day of vacation before going back to work at helldesk.

I can confirm there is a latency problem with FLS 8.
I don't actually use FLS that much nowadays so I don't really know what I'm doing there.
Don't know if it helps but I've noticed that certain presets I've created either work fine or introduce latency/knock out the audio.
Gunshot A Fling generally works fine but occasionally introduces a slight lag when using FLS's transport controls
Trippy will either override the audio or introduce half a seconds latency when pressing play in FLS.
Edit: Don't know if it's related but running BM in FLS also causes a delay between switching windows. i.e. going from Firefox to FLS you can see the FLS screen be redrawn.

Is there a reason for making all the different beta versions available on the downloads page? Don't we just need the latest?

In that case you need to play with the velocity knobs on each section, they act as a min gate, so setting to zero will give the full velocity range. Velocity is also only appropriate to midi messages. I just tried it in FL and it works correctly, they are probably set too high in the saved out version.GermanFafian wrote: Nope!

I'm not sure whether I will implement this internally, I have done in Astralis but it can cause lag on older processors, due to the fact I am still developing via SE which limits the GUI speed to a low no. of clock cycles. I think that the graphics are already a bit intense on slower processors. I'll think about it though.GermanFafian wrote: Right. Now it only lags a bit when stopping the host.

sorry you are back to work

Firstly did you turn the 'update on play' option off? (Audio settings) I'm sure that should cure the initial latency. With it switched on the synth is reloaded when play is pressed, which includes scanning the drum loops etc....
Can you report back with this switched off?
Secondly I wouldn't use it to create presets yet, I haven't implemented the patch system so it isn't really supported yet
I'll be adding patch support after the kits are implemented.

Yes there is, it is a record, making a new version can also introduce problems, in that case I need to know the last working version of that user.

Edit: Using beta 006
I'll check on a few of my other hosts over the next couple of days to see if its just FLS.
If its the "reset on playback" option (sorry I'm at work now so may not be the correct wording) but yes it is already turned off.Astralp wrote:Firstly did you turn the 'update on play' option off? How much the mouse has to move to turn the knob. Fully off to fully on can sometimes require more than a full screens worth of mouse movement.Astralp wrote:What do you mean by throws?Az're-ul wrote: BR I'm getting different 'throws' on the knobs, sometimes a full screens worth, sometimes half a screen.

hi andy !
first congratulations, this is a wonderful instrument.
It works fine on my recent laptop. I try it today on my old athlon xp 3000 + ( non sse) and it doesn't load on any host ( reaper, energy xt, minihost usine) .
I suppose this comes from the non sse. energy xt show me an error message.hope it helps .

for minihost ( i saw that with another sse plugin )

Hi Damien - Yes, I'm afraid it does require SSE, that is currently a minimum requirement.
Az're-ul - The graphics slowdown is due to the GUI overloading on slower processors, what is your processor? Unfortunately the clock speed is limited by SE, I'll see if I can speed things up a bit.

Not sure if its that, as I've got an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz (Q6600) & my GPU is a Radeon X1650. Please don't tell me my computer is now hopelessly out of dateAstralp wrote:Az're-ul - The graphics slowdown is due to the GUI overloading on slower processors, what is your processor? Yep, definitely advise upgrading
Not sure why, you should experience this then, I wouldn't have expected it...
I'm interested in how it behaves in other hosts...

You're wish is my command oh master. No problem switching between Firefox & my other hosts so maybe there's a memory leak in FLS somewhere?Astralp wrote:Yep, definitely advise upgrading![]()

Orion Platiunum 7.5 - works - no latency on triggering individual hits, an eigth to a quarter of a bar latency till BM sequencer starts
Renoise 1.9 - works - no latency on individual hits but triggering BM's seq starts playing about half a bar later the first time its triggered then about an eighth of bar after that.
Minihost - works , no latency on individual hits but slow playback & latency on triggering BM's sequencer.
AudioMulch - works, slight latency on BM's sequencer, no latency on triggering individual hits
Plogue Bidule - works, no latency but some dodgy midi (probably a setting I need to mess about with)
