xx JPRacer xx wrote:^ And after that it's Uhbik-X, right?

Do you think it's a matter of weeks or months?
I have no idea. I want to move into an external office space as soon as possible because working at home has become a major slow down. I love my wife but she's here all day now while she's managing her brother's stuff and the telephone rings permanently, there are visitors every week, I have to get out into a quiet space with no telephone at all (I don't have a mobile anymore for that reason), and I have to get Howie to take over customer support. Otherwise I'm down to 2-3 hours of actual work a day, when it used to be 10. In 2-3 hours I don't even run warm enough to get any serious work done. Sigh...

Later,

;) Urs

I absolutely know how you feel... Hope you find a perfect place for work!

good luck finding the right place for you to work. it can get frustrating to always to be bothered by something when you try to get some work done. know how you feel on that one.

Hi Urs + all, I have just gone 64 bit with Win7 and Sonar 8.5 and so I have tried out the 64bit Zebra.

No crashes or glitches but I notice that it drinks much more cpu power, a typical patch may use 28% but the same patch in 32bit only uses 6%

Does anyone else have this issue?

Using Logic Pro 9.x on the mac (audio units) I absolutely notice that these 64-bit betas use a lot more cpu than the previous official 32-bit 2.5 release.

Ok, thanks for the confirmation junocorn.

I have noticed after more testing that it isn't just Zebra that does this either.

[EDIT]

It seems that all 64bit vst and vsti consume twice or more the cpu power as the 32bit versions!

Must do some more research.

Hi Urs,
hope your situation is more comfortable now !

No pressure meant, but any little tiny bit of information how it's
going along ?
Just curious...

Cheers

Working on it...

I'm going to compile 64-bit Filterscape and MFM2 for Windows today or tomorrow.

Then there's still some work to do to get 64-bit VST2 on Mac done.

Regarding the cpu consumption, I can't see that on my CPU. I have tried various compilers and the current settings are rather fast here. I can switch back to some default compiler settings though and we can test that too.

After some research it is looking like SONAR is reporting high cpu usage for 64bit plugs compared to 32bit.

If I open up taskmanager, performance is pretty similar between the two as far as cpu usage % is concerned.

So it is a SONAR (feature) rather than anything else :D

Took a bit, but here's finally some Windows 64-bit stuff with installers and all. And with MFM2 and Filterscape.

ACE: http://www.u-he.com/ACE_1_0_Win.zip
Uhbik: http://www.u-he.com/Uhbik11Win.zip
Zebra: http://www.u-he.com/Zebra25Winstaller.zip
Filterscape: http://www.u-he.com/Filterscape13Win.zip
MFM2: http://www.u-he.com/MFM21Win.zip

These might be final, I suppose that only cosmetical issues are left, if any.

These versions are also not time limited anymore.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Hey mate, haven't installed yet but just one very minor thing about the Zebra windows archive (and maybe the rest).

Those nasty hidden Mac files have been compressed here too, I would remove them.

e.g. contents of archive

._INSTALL+UPGRADE.pdf
._license.txt
._Zebra V2.5 ReadMe.pdf
INSTALL+UPGRADE.pdf
license.txt
Zebra V2.5 ReadMe.pdf
Zebra25Winstaller.exe

Might be confusing to some :)

Arrrgh... these shouldn't be there... bummer...

I have not tried the others but I am seeing archive errors with MFM21. WinRar reports "corrupted archive" and 7-Zip reports "unsupported compression method". No rush, just letting you know.

Weird. I have used YemuZip which so far worked great... must look for an alternative now... d'oh
