Plex - Restructuring Synthesizer

SampleScience wrote:I've just added my entry. :) I hope it's listennable, I always find it quite hard to make music with only one synth. For my track I have used the presets that came with the instrument, a lot of tape saturators (all freewares) & compression/limiters. I hope it's ok!

Let me know if there's anything wrong with the way I have proceeded!
You should just name which plugs you used. See kraftraum post announcing his entry - the second in this page - to have an idea.
And welcome to OSC :) Hope you enjoy the challenge.

Just checked, Plex works with reaper in an older version of the Studio 1337 prize offering. Just copied it over, with some .fxp files made earlier, powered off, unplugged the hard-disk, rebooted the usb stick to ram, and posting from it. Plex is a fun system to dig into. Hope it gets even more support from it's makers.
Cheers
Cheers Skyzone.

Big shame with the Plex tech troubles for so many. Unexpected but admit not much went into the synth selection this time in terms of testing etc so take a bit of blame here but as a Cubase to Reaper emigrant I should probably have known not to blindly trust Steinberg when it comes to reliability..
Hi, since I find very good the free software sunvox... are you going to put that in a contest?
Interesting one. It sounds like Bidule where one isn't really sure if it's a DAW or synth. Can it be loaded as a VST in another host?
Cheers to you to V'ger............. :D

Hi Folks,

I'm new to the KVR Forum, and this is my first OSC submission. Doing this was fun, and I hope to continue participating in the subsequent challenges.

I hope I'm posting this correctly. Please let me know if anything is missing, or if I should do something differently.

Song name: Mare Desiderii

DAW: Sonar Producer 7
OS: Windows XP 32-bit

Plex instances: 6
Mostly new sounds from scratch or tweaked factory sounds. The only preset I used as-is was Lyceeum.

DAW effects used:
1 instance of reverb (Lexicon Pantheon) on an effects send bus
1 instance of VC-64 compressor on the master bus

Best,
AdagioCm

Cheers and welcome here :) All looks in order.

Honestly, you can hear that cold character in all four submissions on SoundCloud, even in bzur's strings. It almost seems that there is some phasing issue with this plugin. Seriously missing the mids. Adding saturation helps though not much. Not our favorite synth.
I tried hitting everything in my coming submission with V.O.S's Thrillseeker compressor, to see if Bootsy's "stateful saturation" would do the trick, and I'm really liking the results... Crush it till it works!

Nice one, indeed. It's getting better, it's getting fatter. Thanks Gorgor.

Indeed, best Saturation to be had in freeware, but probably not many ahead at all except Decapitator, VintageWarmer and some others. Yet to try out Thrillseeker properly though..

Hi Everyone,

I think I'm getting a better hang of Plex. The tips about using saturation effects were very helpful. I just posted a second submission.

There are great stuff here, seriously, I'm too far rfom that level. But despite that, I'd like to present my track and hope it passes all rules.

P.S. I know, it has crackles and other shit, I was doing it all night long and I feel like I can't do nothing more here..... Besides now...

Ow, where is my embedded player?

P.S. Yep, here it is... :)

Cheers and welcome here, but I think you need to change the Vengeance Producer Suite - Philta as it's neither host- or freeware as per the rules.
