I was going to ask the same question, but forgot to.
Yes of course. We hope you will take a look at all beta versions. We still dont know how many iterations are needed.

FrettedSynth, making the velocity graphs more simple is the conclusion we ended with also i think.

And... one more thing... we have 3 or 4 very different overall directions on disruptive applications using the MIDI Guitar technology, which I'm currently considering how to present and prioritize. Most likely some of you will get ahead of me framing the big picture...
I need to add something.. what you are doing for us MIDI guitar guys is nothing short of amazing. keep up the good work and thank you.

Hi guys

As we are working hard on the next beta of MIDI Guitar, we are also working on improving the recognition technology. We regularly use a limited number of guitars to test and improve the technology.

We would love to test with even more guitars to make the best possible experience. You guys can help us out by sending us recordings of your guitars.

Instructions
  • 1. Download JamOrigin-Tabs.zip that contains test tabs and songs.

    2. Record your guitar (clean input) playing the tabs.

    3. Upload the recordings to a file sharing website like 2shared

    4. Send us an email at mail@jamorigin.com with a link to the recordings.
Thank you for helping us out, we really appreciate it.

Instructions also available at the MIDI Guitar website.

I didn't get accepted, my hopes and dreams are ruined :P! I'll send in some clean samples anyway as you said in your next (and previous of this) post.

I'm already recording the files. My question is if we send you wav files or mp3 files. in the case of mp3s what compression rate do you want, I suggest 360 kps for more accuracy and more similarity with the clean guitar input signal. Please tell us any technical information you want from the test files.

Hi

Great suggestions.

WAVE files would be ideal if your internet connection is fast enough to upload them within a reasonable time frame.

Otherwise 320 kbps or higher MP3/OGG would also be fine.

I'll try to upload the wave files

Is it possible to use a mic'ed acoustic guitar and have MIDI Guitar understand it? Or do you need to be plugged in through a 1/4" jack?

Since MIDI Guitar tracks so much better when your guitar is in tune, How About adding a tuner?

Maybe make it have a on\off switch to save CPU? also a way to silence the MIDI out for quiet tuning?

I'm really interested in buying this. If it really works the way you described and demonstrated it, it will be amazing. With this plugin, many "midi guitars" will start to become useless, i guess. :D

What about pitch bends, vibrato, sustain (also when the notes stop) and velocity does it gather that correctly? Does it work well with Ibanez guitars with the INF pickups? When will the first non-beta version come out, how much will it cost, will future updates be free? I would BUY the beta if that later gave me access to the full version.

Let's hope there's activity!!! This is my most wanted plugin on the planet right now! Guitar generated midi input and output via plugin sending midi notes to any softsynth of one's choice? :o

WANT! :D
